New Erceg Motorsport MATRIX Prolite

Howdy all.

It is only in its early stages, but after months on the design table (graph pad, pencil and protractor) the work has finally begun on the new Matrix prolite. It is going to be a box section front end design with a J-arm setup. The car will be running a 3.5lt Toyota engine with a 6 speed albins.

This car is being built for Ben Erceg and we HOPE to have it out at round 1 next year in April.

Stay tuned for updates as they come to hand.

Constructive critism is always welcomed.

Cheers

Luke

Its been a busy week in the shed and after lots and lots of hours we have both top and bottom plate sections made and jigged for the next front end we build. About to start joining the pieces together and getting ready for the steering box mount and shock tower. Hopefully by next weekend they will be ready to go.

Cheers

Luke

*PS - the vertical tubes are only to hold it in place for setup.

Whilst loving the facepalm... I haven't actually had to do it yet. Im sure it will come with time.
Another 10 hours of work and I've got the steering bulkhead finished. I will be installed tomorrow morning. Then to make the front arms.

Had another successful day in the shed today. Have mounted the steering bulkhead and steering servo and also have 1 front lower arm together. Just waiting on a little more laser cutting to come back to get started on the other lower arm.

Here is a time lapse video I have been working on for this weekend. It is the fabrication of a lower a arm for the new car. Plan on doing a couple of videos here and there. And before anyone says it... Yes I'm wearing the wrong footwear again!

Seeing as it only takes 3 minutes to build a front arm, I expect the buggy to be finished and driving by ........ next Tuesday!!!

Andrew...don't be cheeky!!! Haha
Thanks for the comments guys. We are just setting up our new bender and will be starting the chassis later in the week.

Just wanted to take the opportunity to thank Cameron from racer imports for all his help sourcing all the exact parts we want and getting them too us in a quick fashion.

G'day everyone

Bit more progress in the shed on the new Prolite chassis. Floor, hiprails, roll cage and the front bonnet area of the frame are almost complete with just a bit of bracing to be put in. Hopefully this will all be completed by the end of the weekend. Then it will be front shock mounts, top arms and nudge bar next after that.

Cheers

Luke

Thanks Gary.

Had a big morning in the shed. Roll cage is now complete. Shockers will be here mon/tues so will get to work on front shock towers and then rear cage. After that the chassis is complete and I can begin the day of welding.

Dont forget to check out our facebook page for all the updates on what we are up to.

We are still on track for our April debut at the moment and we look to have this car racing at all of the ARB Australian Off Road Series events next year.

Cheers

Luke

Its been a big few weeks in the shed with lots of after hours work and early mornings. Progress is going well. Hoping to have pedals and steering mounted by the end of the weekend and hopefully... HOPEFULLY have it on front wheels by the end of next weekend.

Cheers

Luke
