The rise and rise of offroad racing in AUS.

With many very competitive cars now racing in Aus its not hard to see that our sport at the top level is really healthy.  At any given event any 10 cars would be capable of a win.

I wasnt around during the halcyon days of the 80's when the economy was good and everyone had plenty of disposable bucks the throw at offroad racing, but came in on the cusp of the exposion of top level cars out running now.

so what do you reckon is the cause of all the increased investment, professionalism and intrest in our sport?

I think the biggest influence is the state of the economy & the value of the AUD v USD. Top quality parts are more affordable now then they have ever been. There was noway in the late 90.s I could have afforded to buy the gear I have got today for the truggy.

Engine parts are cheaper, suspension parts are cheaper, the list go's on. Ebay has also helped all those little items like nets, heims etc can be purchased from ebay & shipped using USPS (No duties or GST).
