a quick question regarding seats in race cars. been reading on race-dezert and glamis about suspension seats and some ppl have been seeing that the belts tend to come loose in a big stack or hard hits as the seat compresses.
does any1 here have this problem?? or are they fine if they belts are tight enough??
It depends what you buy as to you get is what you pay for. Good seats means good foam and webbing = less deformation. Same as belts the better the belt the better the buckel and adjusters.
I can tell you that between the ultra and ultra pro beard seats I prefer the ultra. You sit lower in the seat (we cant use the seatbelt slots in the pro seat as we sit too high) which means you're not gripping with your butt cheeks as much, heaps more comfortable and much, much cheaper! In the ultra pro it feels like your sitting on the seat, in the ultra you're snug in the seat.
At least thats when they're sitting in the shed anyway... not sure what they're like on track yet!
But if we were doing it all again we would not go with the ultra pro - theyre designed for pre-runner trucks. We may end out trying to mod the cushion in the seat to bring it down a bit to match the ultra - so there's a whole whack of money that would have been better spent elsewhere...
