ITs all happening this weekend in Qld, the Stadium Off Road happening.Should be a beauty.
I know the Attard car is coming out of the shed for it,plusthe Del -Santos. Anyone Know any others, there were quite a few others going if.
So one would assume there will be a great field of machines showing up for this one time chance to make it all happen again.
Chris & Kaitlin and the crew from OFf Road RUSH giving rides and being the naming sponsers for this EVENT is  also going to help get our sport out there in front of the public.
Bring it on.Everybody get out there  & support it

We were out there this morning for the media day. It looks to be an awesome track with a big tabletop jump in front of the grandstand. Quite a few of the trucks and buggies were catching pretty big air off it, including Marty Dal Santo who cleared it completely landing on the flat speedway track past it. If you can get to Brisbane this weekend it will definitely be worth checking out.

Goodluck to all involved, wish I could be there!
Hopefully there might be a series in the future, I will certainly try to run it, maybe buy another car!
Any one else keen to see stadium o.r. get going again? Or maybe plan to build new cars to suit? What about getting trophy karts going in aussie if possible, I know they are on the drawing board, but whos getting one?

yea we want to buy a trophy kart next year but the young bloke has a couple of years to go before he could race it but there no harm in getting one for now to look and see about either building them or importing them to resell
he will get alot of practice in the mean time
 anyone else interested

Go Chest-Clutcher!!!! Hope he didnt hurt the car though!

As for the trophy karts, my understanding is that its going to be a franchise type deal like aussie legends - IE if its not purchased as a complete vehicle through simpsons it wont get homologated for competition.... anyone got mroe info on this?

Thanks mate!

There's another trophy-kart thread so if you've got a comment to make on karts, make it there.

How many starters are there for stadium?

Not sure of the exact numbers, Chris or Michael might be able to give more detail, but there is a good line-up of Pro Class including the Off Road Rush cars, Laurie Svenson, Darren Stocks i think, a few 1600s including Tait Svenson, good field of trucks and an excellent field of about 8 4WDs and about 20 Quad Racers. All we need is a nice day tomorrow free of rain.

Hi all Dave Parsons here, just to let you know we have 20 quad entries and 29 car entries after a few late minute withdraws. Everyone is keen to go racing and have positive attitudes which is awesome. The crews which turned up to the media day put on a great show.

The track is flowing with a couple of sharp turns to slow em down. The track is also a minimum of 16m wide and in some sections 18m so the big cars have room. More images on www.stadiumoffroad.com

We will see what happens on Saturday.smile

The weather is fine in Brisbane today, hopefully we don't get any rain later. I'm about to head off to Archerfield shortly for officials briefing, etc. Murray Rogers from www.offroadracing.com.au will be there today and he intends to set up a live web-cam. Should be a great night.

Last nights Stadium event was fantastic. The crowd was right into it, revved up by the commentator Rusty Bell, the organisation was very smooth and the competitors all did themselves proud with sensational driving. The whole thing was a real crowd pleaser and it was a reasonably good sized crowd in attendance. The track was designed very well for the vehicles entered and the competitors really did appreciate this.

Everyone got 3 heats (1 more than originally scheduled) and then a Class Final, which was just enough to keep everyone satisfied. Due to the track curfew the reverse grid feature finals were not able to be held. I think a few of the guys were a bit fatigued towards the end of the night anyway.

Chris Western certainly wasn't though. He was on a real high after taking out the Buggy Final (maybe it was those red-bulls the girls were handing out) Laurie Svenson came home second ahead of Mick Van Moorsel. I have to make a mention of Tait Svenson in the 1650. He was running a superb 2nd in the Buggy Final holding out Dad Laurie until he hooked a rut and did a slow roll over. After the restart (the only one we had all night) Tait then proceeded to make a charge back through the field over the last 3 laps to finish 5th or it might have even been 4th.

Brett Currie dominated the heats in the Trucks but in the final Chris Hutton really put the pressure on and these 2 put on one of the shows of the night with massive air off the table top. Brett landed a bit heavy on the front left though and snapped a heim joint in the lower control arm which put him out and Chris charged on for a very popular win in front of his home crowd. Marty Del Santo came home second followed by Brett Huxtop.

The 4WD class had a very large entry list and these guys and girls put on a fantastic show. Seeing the little Suzuki's, etc, taking it too and beating the larger 4wds really got the crowd going. In the final Shane Ogilvie all the way down from Townsville in his Ford Maverick and youngster Ben De Brueys in the Jeep Cherokee put on the race of the night in my opinion. Both drove superbly and really pushed their vehicles to the limit. After a bit of panel rubbing Shane just held Ben out with young Clayton Chapman continuing to build his reputation as one of the young superstars of off road racing in Queensland coming 3rd in the short wheelbase Mitubishi Pajero.

The unofficial "jump of the night" off the table top was hotly contested with many in contention. Ryan Taylor is probably still coming down from his jump. Others in contention were Brett Currie, Chris Hutton, Shane Ogilvie, Darren Stocks who did a nose landing with resultant spin and select a gear and take off again, Steve Willett and Laurie Svenson. Their might have been others, but with so much action around the track it was hard to catch eveything.

All up a very good night, the crowd loved it, the competitors were ecstatic afterwards and hopefully this can now lead on to other Stadium events.

Special mention to the likes of Chris Hutton and Darren Stocks who had give away posters for all the kids that came down to the pits afterwards.

Just wanted to congratulate all everyone who had their part in organizing the event.
Even though my car did not survive the event (due to poorly timed preparation), the whole event was awesome and hopefully it will continue for future events.
Great job folks!

Hey guys, just want to sincerely thank all those who helped us put this event on and all the competitors who competed on the night who share the vision that we do.
We as organisers are extremely happy how the event went as far as competotors and spectators. And the media contingent was in force with both TV and print inc. Speedweek, 4WD TV, Dirt Comp magazine, Racing Lines and our very own offroadracing.com.au.
All the feedback from the event has been very positive and we have already started preparations on our next event which will be even bigger and better. We will keep you informed on our plans.

Michael Taylor.

Murray has some photos up on his site and we will be adding photos(including Ryan Taylor`s jump of the night) to www.stadiumoffroad.com very shortly and also some in car footage taken from from Chris Hutton`s truck and Ryan Taylor`s Pro Buggy.
We are looking at venues in Sydney at the moment and hope to have some more information soon.
We would also like to hear from anyone interested in competing at an event in Sydney...

Cheers
Michael Taylor

We will also have 4 pro buggies there to support and race at sydney as i am hooked the studium race at brisy was the best fun i have had behind the wheel of a race car also the crew were pumped up all night from the action i caint imagine what it will be like racing in Sydney with massive crowds and quality cars wheel to wheel .the mentality of every racer at the brisy stadium was awsome to give each other a bit of space when racing as this was on the minds of every one not like the old days of crash and bash it gives the new generation of stadium/corr style races in Australia a bright future for us as competitors knowing our cars wont get wrecked and be able to use the cars we currentley run in the long coarse events.the opotunites will be masive to get off road racing out in front of the general public as we all know we are in the best form of motorsport there is.
cheers
Chris
