It will be interesting to see how Matt Hanson goes with the Porter. They have done a lot of work on the car and it is good to hear that he is much happier with the handling now and is confident that it is on the right track.
I woulda thought a porter would have been pretty well sorted by design? or was the handling situation things like ackermann/steering or spring/shock settings?

l heard it might have been a Friday arvo Monday morning car. l am going down for a look and take a heap of photos for some ideas for the new car. Who else is going to race or to spectate. l would love to catch up with one and all l have been conversing with on this forum or anyone who wants a chat.
Hey Boss Truck, you might have to explain to me what a "friday arvo, monday morning car is. Friday Arvo is think about the weekend and Monday morning is spent hung over from what you dreamed up last Friday.

Never heard that saying before, but i have certainly had the experience a few times, well maybe a couple of hundred times!!!
From what I have seen of it, I don't think there is anything severely wrong in the design, and the build of the car is certainly very, very nice.
I think a lot of it has been setup, shocks, springs, etc, etc. I am sure that it will be a lot better when it next hits the track and will only get better as Matt gets more experience in it and is able to fine tune the suspension.
Yeah, I think that was basically what has happened. I think they have played with a few different settings, sway bars, etc, and no doubt the shocks have had lots of asjustment.
Hopefully it all goes well for him, as he is a really nice guy and he has put a huge amount of effort in to getting the car built, etc and it looks fantastic.
Hey Aaron, do you still need to store your race car and trailer the week before Gundi? Its all good this end, just let me know when you`ll be coming through.
Cheers Michael Taylor

The Gundy event will continue with the 10 minute service/impound idea between laps again this year, as it will allow us to pretty well completely eliminate the faster cars catching the slower cars on the 2nd lap and give everyone the chance to get that 1 minute dust free run on their 2nd lap.
Consideration is being given to making a slight change to the running schedule with the 1st Section on Saturday just being 1 lap. With the longer lap distance this year, recconnisance will eat up a fair bit more time in the schedule, so dropping 1 lap from Section 1 is logical.
It also brings the total race distance back to about 400 kilometers.

Thanks for that Kuster, but we have it all under control now! See you in Gundi.
The Entry List for Gundy comprises 27 Pro Class, including the 3 car Off Road Rush team, the return of Matt Hanson, interestingly the Peter Kittle team have chosen not to support the final round of the AORC. The Pro-Lite field is only 3 cars but should be a very interesting battle between Justin Watt, Tony Fehlhaber and Shane McAllen. The 5 car field in Super 1650 is a young talented group (well apart from the old bloke from NSW) i suspect i will now get a gentle tap on the shoulder at scrutineering tomorrow night from the driver of 210 for that comment? Daniel Brown and Tait Svenson i reckon will have a terrific battle for the Class win. Sam Barnes is the only Sportsman entry. The NSW guys in Extreme 2WD have once again showed tremendous support for Gundy, with Paul Grant, Gavin Mickle and Greg Campbell taking on defending class champions the Gwynne brothers and Chris Monk and Jason Telford. This should be a fantastic battle for class win. Peter Kozak has made the big trip over from WA to wrap up the Performance 2WD class. What a fantastic effort and he deserves to have a good run. The 4WD classes for Gundy are excellent, with the large fields we have been getting in Qld State Rounds this was expected. In Production 4WDGeoff Pickering will be the obvious favourite and will want to bounce back from his recent and very rare DNF. The local charge will be led by Michael Topfer, Andrew Weekes and Roger Vickory. One to watch is the very talented youngster Clayton Chapman. Colin Hunter will have some good competition in Extreme 4WD from Robert Chapman, Warren Denham and Mark Lacey.
I think Matt Hanson will be right up there this weekend.... Saw Matt and the car earlier in the week. The car is looking great and after some recent work and testing, Matt is very happy with the improvements on the car.
i hope your right Sean, Matt is a real talent behind the wheel and if the car is now sorted he will certainly be in contention. I would love to see him on the podium Sunday afternoon.

Glad to see the class changes we had to have really made a difference at nation level
It must be so nice to be able to have such a simplistic view and focus on one small negative out of what has been a very succesful and positively received change.
12 months from now, you will most certainly have healthy numbers of Pro-Lite at National Rounds.
So sorry Tassie Devil didn't know it was a crime to have my own point of view.Your successful and positively received changes must be amongst the higher class racers, not lower class state scum like myself.Wether Im over it or not makes no difference as we didn,t get a say anyway.
Good on you 136 (Mick). Continue to have your say and you are not alone in your opinion. Don't be put off by Tassie. Wouldn't it be good if we had an official website with a forum for all offroad people in Australia, (And not somebody elses site) a lot of really good information could be brought forward. See you all at Goondi--or Nabiac.
I dont want to get into a sh*tfight on the forum... But everyone can have their say on whatever topic they want, just depends on how much effort you want to put in. Speaking of effort, quite a few people put a hell of a lot in (not me by the way), and the fact is that we cannot disagree with decisions if we were not involved at the higher levels of decision making. (forums dont count) Tassie, dont be put off...you are doing what you beleive is correct, and you are putting the effort in! (a different opinion will always exist) Off road is booming, is it due to the cams/panels decisions? Or has John Howard got the country running so well we can afford better buggies and bigger race entries? Anyway...goodluck to all at Gundy (you know, the race with lots of entries)
