What travel bump stops should FOA build?

Trying to decide what travel bumps to build. I'de LOVE to just be able to build one size, but that's probably not feasable. For sure, we plan on a 4".....but what other size......if any?

Any and all input appreciated.

l think a 2 inch would be good to run on the front of a A/Arm car with limited space to mount and would love to hear any feed back we downunder might have so we can get the products we need down here. Chris is the big man from FOA in the USA when it comes to sales and any comments we may have could influence what we could see down here in products.

I reckon, go for a large and small sorta thing, like a 4 inch as you have suggested, but also a 1.5inch or 2inch, for limited room or smaller travel cars/buggies. It would be interesting to hear the opinion of racers and those who have built there own cars/buggies on what the ideal size is

Im not sure in offroad in aus if there would be a market for such short travel bump stops. Whats the theory behind marketing the product? Bump stops for shorter travel cars? Lighter? Run dual bump stops?

Not being sarcastic btw, just curious!

Basically they would be for cars that run limited travel like beam front ends, some class five guys, people who take thier 4x4 out into the bush to play on the weekends it doesn't have to be a race car. l take my Navara out to play on the weekends and because of the conservtive rules in Qld can't run a calmini kit ect so at most have 8 inches of travel in the front so taking out the rubber bump stops and replacing them with a 2 inch travel would help with getting that little bit more out of my car.
We are aiming to get these on cars across a whole different variety of sports and recreational use but we need feedback to see if this would be viable. By the way in a few weeks the 4 inch bumps will be on the market. At this stage they will be $300 US a pair with cans plus trans.

Actually, they'll be in the testing stages in a few weeks. Once we are happy with everything, they'll go to production. I'de guess Dec. or so.....but don't hold me to that.

The reason for the smaller bumpstops is more for the a-arm trucks. They don't have much physical room in there to mount a bump, so it has to be mounted near the pivot of the a-arm. When it's that close to the pivot, a little bump goes a looong way. It may only be 2", but it affects about 4-5 inches of the actual wheel travel.
Most buggies and such would be fine with a 4" bump. Right now, we plan to just make the 4" and see how it goes from there.

Some pics of the prototypes. We've put a plug into the top to make oil level adjustments easier. They have a c-clip that clips into the body at various postions that assists in holding the bump in place in the can, as well as having multiple mounting positions.
The production models will get a longer/thicker can, and possibly additional grooves in the body for more fine tuning of the bumps position.
Questions.....concerns.....comments???? Now's the time for us to make changes. Anything appreciated.
Testing should start soon.

l already have a few guys who have pre-ordered the bumps, they will be the best value for money bumps on the market. The FOA Downunder, J&P DieseLec, Kartek, FMS Buggy will be running them for sure (thats me). l can't wait to get my hands on them.

What about making a hard plastic base to go with them, slightly concave, for people to mount onto the rear arm? Its what we're going to do rather than having steel on steel. Just a suggestion...

Light Racing has something like that. We are tossing around a couple ideas, though who knows.
