Tin Top Outright Victories?

A couple of weeks late, but it should be noted that Rob Chapman won the last round of the Qld state series outright in a class 8!
All the tin tops showed the quality of the classes in Queensland at the moment.

This brings on the question of the last time that a class8 won an event outright?
I remember Fabio winning Springfield years ago outright, but has ther been another in the meantime, state rounds included.

Fabio also won the Flinders 400 the last time it was run.
Bruce Garland was second in Finke behind Fellows the year it rained(2001)

Brett Milton won the Goondiwindi AORC Round in 2003 (I think) in a Bennett built Class 4 Rodeo with a V8. The same car that Jason Telford is now campaigning. Fabio is the only other one that comes to mind immediately.

Guys not to put a negitive spin on the post but hasn't Greg and Jason's cars both got full fiberglass bodies. What classes a tin top a tin top???

I always consider as a general rule of thumb class 5 are tintop, class 4 are 'glass. Surely thats a fair enough assumption?

The last tin-top National Champ (outright) would have been Fabio in the Pajero I think... What was that, 1999 or something like that?
