aorc

i just read the mintues for aorc and i noticed that there was a amendment to artical 4.12, seeding is somethink that you need in the 60s when only one car finished prologue, but how we are going to reward people who don't finish a section by seeding them in the next section . if you have a problem or make a mistake thats your deal , it shows more character  trying to make your way to the front than just been stuck back in there.                                       but thats just my opinion

For what it's worth I agree. Seeding is always based on personal opinion. Whether a car is faster or not, it isn't fair to other competitors who are still in the race by means of skill, car preparation,  or even luck, that they should then have to lose track position because in somebody's opinion "Fred Extreme Speed" (not a real name) is always in front of "Joe Poc Slow" (Also not a real name).

Just to play the devils advocate, isnt the purpose of seeding to improve safety?  And shouldnt safety of our competitors and friends be paramount?

I cant say Im an advocate of seeding, I think if you DNF then you should start from the rear, but there is also a deeper issue here which should be considered....

maybe safety is a consideration but by what principles are seeding apllied,or is just another case of longer you been around the higher up you go. now if a faster car come up behind up with its horn blowing why wouldn't you pull over ,because if we all do the right thing then there be no safety issuse for our fellow competitors and friends.

safety is always top issue, so why guess where a car might be if only.......... And back to my previous point why should someone who is fighting for class position suddenly have a car that is basically out of the race seeded in front of him. The seeded car  could then, if seeded to high, destroy the race for the car behind, or if he caught and passed the car in front, time lost for letting a car passed might cost a position. This is a bit sad when sheep stations are at stake.

DNF runners should run with DNF runners and let the competitors still in the race, race!

I can't remember the last time I saw Mark Skaife moved back up the field because thats where he would have been if Rusty hadn't accidently tap him off the track!

I think if you Prologue 1st and then in your heat you DNF, well bad luck you go ROF for your next heat simple.

As for Mark Skaife and Rusty, i think they race on that Black Sh%t.

John Towers at Milbrodale coming through the field from ROF. I would like to see that, he would be a man on a mission.

Sorry that might be too for back in history for some, But it didn't seem to be a problem for him.

After reading said bits,it  would appear that if ,say, you run  the Fink Desert Race,if you prolgue well(besides the cars that will  be seeded) & are placed well in the field, you could have a problem, apply for seeding & presto you are back in the possy you started from for the return trip,WOW.

Well thats what it says. That would of course make  Griffith a little harder for the guys back in the field , and also frustrated, to watch a car maybe get seeded four (4) times (once in the prologue 3 times in the race) and thats only two scenarios.

It should be really difficult for anyone in dusty conditions to improve thier lot in the race  if cars are constantly reseeded in front of them & the cars that are reseeded in front of them would not be racing them for position or points but would be spoiling thier chances.

What were they drinking that night.

i dont think that rule only would stop me from entering aorc events,i think it would be that the cost of competting at aorc events, plus the new tax on the point score is not good value for money. there is enough racing at state level to keep me and the bank manager happy. having said that we mite drop some state rounds and do some aorc ones , maybe
