No rain for one week, strong winds have dried some of the wet sections. The track and arena look great (Bonus very little dust). Entries close Wednesday night and with 35 already it could be a fifty field. Mail or Fax entries now. Call me on 02 65621366 with any queries. Maurie
Maurie Fuller advises that Car 317 Bradley Bishop is a late withdrawal meaning a field of 42 to face the starter...
First event attracted 44 entries so 42 in the present economic climate (given fuel costs etc etc) is really good...
Check the News page at www.kempseyoffroadracing.net over the next few days as there will be regular updates from the event. I hope to have some pics from Saturday posted pretty early and results will be up later in the evening. Sunday I will be at the event taking pics and will post results as soon as I get home (at conclusion of event).Maybe even some video :)
Now that was a real off road race. 44 starters 12 finishes average speed of 66 km/h, good crowd and almost perfect weather conditions(bit too wet for me on Sat morning-can the organisers do something about that for next year please) ...a great start for the new NSW Long Course Championships.
Congratulations Darren, a great drive and a well deserved win. All the crews that finished the event should be feeling very pleased with themselves, that was one of the toughest races I've run since the Kempsey of old when it was an AORC round.
Can't wait for Milbrodale, I think its about 6 weeks away....which is about how long it will take to clean the car.
With quality events like Wittitrin, Milbrodale and Warialda all coming together to form the NSW Long Course Championship, the state scene in NSW is looking very healthy indeed.
I agree whole heartedly. It was a top event in almost perfect conditions. As Scotty Brown said on Sunday "Now this is real Off Road Racing, not some 500km sprint. A real test of man and machine. Reminds me of the old Bridgestone International days only a shorter version." And this from a guy who had a less than perfect weekend. You really should put Wittitrin on your "To Do List". Thanks for a great weekend Maurie and Robyn.

The Lee family would like to thank those individuals who safely extracted Katherine Wellings and Elizabeth Lee from their wrecked buggy, and those people who inquired and showed concern about their wellbeing following the accident.
I'd like to thank everybody involved who played any part in making Wittitrin such a great event. I can't wait to have another crack at it next year. Hopefully I can sort out my reliability issues (MUCH BIGGER AXLES) and do more than 1 lap.
If anybody has more photos from the weekend i'd love to see them.
I just added an approx 10 minute YouTube video featuring all of the action from the Wittitrin 200 over on the Videos page at www.kempseyoffroadracing.net
