Anyone who seen Shannon Rentsch at Goondiwindi last year will appreciate the young fella has stepped up another level and will be extremely hard to beat for the title this year. Dave Fellows and Mark Burrows will push him hard and watch out for Danny Auricht, i am tipping him to win his 1st National Round this year. The 2 Haydens, Hayden Bentley and Hayden Tatnell will be in the running at some events as will the likes of Terry Rose and Glenn Owen. The West Australians may do allright at their home event but will not have the experience or skills to be consistent frontrunners elsewhere. In summary it will come down to Shannon, Mark and Dave.
In the Classes, Chris Coulthard will be the man again in Class 2 but Matthew Owen if he contests the majority of the Championship will challenge him, Class 3 who knows? Knotty will have a tough battle again in Class 4, Peter Champion if he can get consistent performance from his vehicle will be a threat as will Matthew Coleman in the ex Milton Rodeo and of course we will all be waiting for the return of Greg Gartner to see what he can do. Class 5 is always a bit of a raffle but if Graham Lees contests the majority of Rounds i think he will get 501 back. Geoff Pickering will go unchallenged in Class 7 and Colin Hunter will be the man to beat again in Class 8. One of the most interesting battles this year will be the Class 9 Championship. Trevor Copeland is obvious favourite but Hayden Tatnell will be keen to regain 901.
