the oz-truck refresh


the oz-truck 405 has been refreshed.
it is not a navara no more it is a ford ranger.
there is pics of the frame and the panels

The arms and stubs were they imported or made locally .who done the diff and the front stubs ..all nice looking work keep up with the pics

the front arms and diff we got from racer imports
the front arms and hubs were from tatum in america
the diff was made by tube works in america

some more thing done to car.
fuel tank made and in.
radiotor is mounted.
new arms are 160mm smaller then the last ones.
panels have started to be mounted.
couple of small things need to be done then it will be sent to powder coaters.

The car is looking really great, be great to see it when it is all complete.

When it is done, I would love to try and get some shots of it. Perhaps I can organise a trip up to Sydney to shoot a few of the new/rebuilt cars?

Love the new look mate. panels look brilliant (Especially that nice blue oval). Aluminium work on the tank looks real good to. Be good to see it out... When is the first race your hoping to get to?

oz-truck is going back together really fast
we are waiting on engine and gearbox
after we get that we do the wiring the we go for test
can't wait to drive it again.

Looks an absolute treat, it will be very interesting to see how it handles, etc compared to before when it is all put back together.

we are trying to get more power and better suspension and to try and win 401.
we are ford people thats why we have changed panels to ford.

for finke we didn't have the 351 windsor in because we counldn't get the torque converter.
but we had the 302 windsor instead in for it because we all the parts sitting there waiting.


just to let everybody know that we ripped the front end out thats why we didn't finish.

it happened because the wopes we couldn't get on top of them. we keeped on getting really hard hits. we only had 50kms to go as well. it was just around a corner. dad went around a corner and the car keeped on going around it. it was lucky we did it near the service road not on the road section or on a jump.

it was bad enough we didn't have back brakes and we last the sway bar. it feel off because the spine ripped off because we had to bend it back at finke because it feel off on the way to finke and the sweap car brang it back for us to put back on. and we had to bend it back near the spine that means the spine ripped out like 30kms from finke on the way to alice. 

the parts we lost on finke track 1 sway bar bar. 2 jacks, 1roof, 1 spare tire. that was all the stuff we lost on the track.
one off the jacks was from the f250 we toke it out at finke.

one of locals at alice found are spare tire and the alo jack they are sending it down to us soon.

i will put pics of the car on after we strip every thing off it.

things we lost:
raditor, trans collar, fans for them both, blowers, 2 rims and tires, jack, radel gun, half the fuel tank, maybe the diff need to pull it apart to check, the seats, the dash, motec dash compter every thing to do wif motec. engine should be fine its got a melted rocket cover what we can see at the moment because its covered in dirt to get it out. panels, roofs, all of the aluminum work. 
we are not 100% sure what started it. it ether fuel or oil not sure yet. 
we would like to say thanks to everybody who stop on the track to help us try to get the fire out.

we will be back bigger stronger and ready to take the class champship. we hope that is so.
