It's great to see Bruce getting up to the pointy end of the field. I wonder just how much he can improve! I thought, yesterday when he was in the mid 40's he might be luck and get a few places. You just can't tell with the Dakar.
I was just looking at the Binderbela Motor Sport wed site, they also have a forum thread on the Dakar. It has a lot of daily reports. The address is http://www.bmsc.com.au/forums/idle-torque/19026-dakar-coverage.html
With Sainz having crashed out, De Villiers and Miller in the Volswagens will fight it out to the finish. There is not a lot between them, only a couple of minutes, so it should be a good finish. Robby Gordon has consolidated 3rd place in the Hummer. Bruce Garland was 15th in yesterdays stage and is now 14th overall just ahead of the other Hummer.
What a wonderful result, congratulations Bruce, Harry and the team on your 11th outright. Pelle and Ole are 44th and that is a great achievement as well - congratulations to them. Well done
In case anyone hadn't noticed where Schlesser was in his buggy in this years Dakar, well he raced the Africa Race instead and ended up having quite a comprehensive victory, albiet it was quite a small field and certainly didn't have the quality of the Dakar.
