GETTING OVER TAKEN

Why the f--- do people want to race when you over take them you  get close for them to see you but they will not give way and they can see you it shits me. Most people are great but some should know better.

Hey Slow, did they know that you were there? Or were you lost in their dust?

A horn. Its not that i could see them and thay can see me i even pointed at one car as he was coming towards me. i got past him but it took 25 kms to do it. even to the point when you just about have them on a straight and thay are racing you to the next corner to get you in the dust again.furious

This has been a problem for a long time.

Ever noticed when towing the buggy to the race you get held up by someone in front, then when you get to the overtaking lanes that person speeds up (or it's uphill) and you can't get past!!!!

IT'S QUITE SIMPLE..if someone catches YOU who started behind YOU, then THEY are faster!!!!!!

They caught YOU, because YOU are S L O W E R. YOU are causing unneccessary danger to THEM by holding THEM up.

THEY took risks in dust etc to catch YOU.

YOU should show courtesy (even if you need to allow time for them to get through YOUR dust)

ANYONE who does'nt have this courtesy is a major problem/danger to this sport and is downright arrogant! I don't approve or want these type of "so-called" racers in this sport.

As per the cams manual.

9. driving conduct
During the event, a vehicle alone on the course may use the full width of the course. As soon as it has deen caught by a vehicle which is either temporarily or consistently faster, the driver of the slower vehicle shall give the other vehicle right of way as soon as possible, pulling to the side and stopping if necessary.
The desire to overtake shall be signalled by the sounding of the horn and/ or the flashing of headlamps. Running into the vehicle ahead is not an acceptable method of signalling this desire.

So you cant use Bob Stansfields old theory of: 2 toots, 2 taps, 2 tonnes?

I do think we do need to look at other ways then running in the back of other cars.
We all have cbs in the car we have to make it so we are all on the same channel so we can say car, eg 111 i am about 10 or 20 seconds behind you. you are holding me up let me go then officials have heard that on the cb and a flag can be pointed at that car if thay have not moved over.

I have heard of buggies who knew via CB that a car is behind them, and refuse to pull over because that car is in their class, so unless the officials are 'switched on', then the problem will still occur!
I also think that even with good intercoms that CB talk can be hard to hear, so this system might not be reliable.
Again...common courtesy should prevail.

sentinal is crazy expensive and you can only hire them, sentinal runs on gps coordinates, they are not available in australia at the moment, i think they run at a few hundred dollars rental per event, and you have to purchase the mounting bracket at about US$300
