My name is Bradley and this my first post, any how Im building a buggy to be raced in the prolite class. I got the main hoop bent up by a roll cage fabricator and the bend radius looks to be a bit to tight. The bend radius measures about 90mm and it is bent out of 38.1X2.5 cds, Ive read the cams manual and Im pretty sure I read something about the bends having to be a certain radius but can not find it in there again. Could anybody please help with this. Your help is much appreciated
Hi Brad, have a look in the online cams manual in technical requirements page 5, it says that the centreline bend radius must be at least 3 times the pipe diameter & any deformation during bending measured from smallest to largest must be within 0.9. It's all there & when you work out how to use the cams site it's actually not that bad. It sounds like if you are measuring the inside radius you should be ok, but "check & measure" & measure again always works. Hope this helps.
Hello, thanks for the help, i was just looking in the wrong section of the manual. the centre line radius measure about 90mm but i will measure it up again like you said and see if it's ok.once again thanks for the help.
