here is quick pic of my new buggy in my shed. i hope to get home start working on it soon. it has taken 3 month to complete the transaction but i cant wait to start racing.
i'm not sure but it's all coming off. i'm guessing it has been use on the old owners property by kids and no belts worn thats all i can think of why you have so much padding.
yeah i may make to to the next club round as long as i get the current job finished and get home this week i will have half a chance i have to get it running hasn't started for 18months and i need to rego trailer but that should be easy.
well just a quick update today got car from the autoelec fitted up engine and gearbox fitted temp fuel system and after 3 hrs of cranking engine and fixing sensors/replacing sensors and a small rewire job (auto elect wired trigger and snyc switched) so once all wired adjusted timing and she fired right up. and ran smooth with no smoke and sounds great.
so now i know it works tommorrow the motor gearbox wiring and dash will come back out and i will start to mount new arms, shocks , all the new bars for next year.
will post some pics over the next few days once iget it all done.
well since it was raining today i removed old rear end off buggy and have tacked up new arms and i'm about half way through welding them on. i would say tommorrow night i should have them fully welded and then new cross bracing in ready to re fit the engine and gearbox. then i just have to mount the shocks and should be right to go in the next week or two.
well after today i'm basically going to accept that the buggy will not be finished for the first club round. i have moved it home to my shed. i spent the morning working out mounts and angles for the new shocks which now i have to draw up and cut out. then tacked in new side bars which still need bracing then i fitted tyre weld temp supports bars in so i could drive onto trailer which i did only to find that the welds on the engine mounts which looked a bit sus are sus and has now torn the engine mount out of the tube and bent mounting tubes so once i mount the shocks the motor will come back out and replace tube and mount for engine and gearbox. all this should only take a few days but as i'm starting work tommorrow then a away for at least a month. time is running out i can only hope that i can get it all done.
well time for an update i have finally after many months of working too much i have had two weekend off from work and spent them working on the buggy.
i have replaced all the bent and broken bars and fitted up new engine and gearbox mounts finished off the new side intrustion bars modded and refitted the engine cage.
then i have started making and fitting the shocks and mount on the passenger side still need to add bracing and finish off but it feels great to have made some progress.
well after a few hours of work this weekend the buggy is now in rolling form even put some paint on it before we bolted it together so it looks the part. i have rerun all the wiring just have to cable tie it all also have mostly the fuel system back in just need to get a rectangular swirl pot the round on just doesn't fit right. i even hooked up the exhaust then connect battery and fired it up to make sure all the wiring is good and it fired straight up.
also need to get some grease for the cvs the new brake line to suit the arms then should all be looking good.
hopefully i will get to take it out to dyno test it in the next month. then go and play in bosses paddocks to get a feel for it.
as for racing i have no idea as wife has just left her job and will have to wait till she finds another one so we can get our finance in order again
well drove car out of shed today for log book photos having trouble with brakes so didn't go too far need to get some fitting replaced as they are not sealing but any way it drove out ok so not far to go now need new power steering hoses and fit up fire wall then dyno then fun.as for when just have to wait till finaces get back in order as wife just started new job today.
