Mk 5 Southern Cross

Just a few happy snaps of our car, got the panels back from paint and shes nearly done. Have some older build photos on an external hard drive so have to find them, sorry its a bit ass about. Have a friend thats keen to do the wiring and extractors with me otherwise its all my build after getting the frame from Bob Strawbridge. Must thank uncle Bob plus Ben and Luke Erceg for their patience with my never ending stupid questions(gotta love the ABC). As they say their workshop door is always open! Well its my first build so has taken a while but i have learnt a lot along the way. Must thank Sarah for buying the frame for me as a birthday present!!! Not sure that she realised how much the rest of it was going to cost.smile

The dash is fibreglass with a carbon fibre look, Luke Erceg sells them. Looks great and dead easy to fit, looks better with the gauges in. Will take a better/new pic and update soon. Solid mounts are available to suit the Mendeola, but i wanted  mounts. Mine use an off the shelf bush that fits neatly inside the moly tubing. Can get the part number if you like. Panel mounts are tabs that i made, probably would of been better if i used dzus on the big side pods as they get taken off more. William hepden did an awesome job of fibreglassing the bonnet and painting the panels jet black. Extractors being done at the moment so more pics to come.

Dirty Weekend Racing testing at Mannum. It lives. Pretty happy with it, needs a bit of a tweak here and there but goes and sounds great. Nice to finally get to drive it after all the time and money thats gone into her.
