Friday night scrutineering was bloody cold as we were set up outside with Performance Metals. Lots of casualties among top runners and good to see Greg get a big win and be the first truck to win finke, i'm sure he won't be the last. (biased comment of course).
Interest in the new truck seemed pretty high so will have to wait and see how it all turns out for the future. Lots of people said they wanted one but that means little to the bank account.
The trucks designers had a good time and we have some plans for return visits maybe with a few big name drivers from the US to add some flavour.
Everything is unloaded and washed and now it is back to the job at hand of finishing these 2 trucks asap.
More updates to follow soon.

Sorry about the long pause in proceedings. Have just been doing alot of little things and not much of interest for a photo. have also been bring 2nd truck up to same level as first. About to start brake plumbing also. In my spare time have started number 3 chassis which has my name on it and hopefully will be ready for season 2012. Just a few hours here and there and the top half is nearly done.

Have finished all the brake plumbing on both trucks. Have also sorted mounting of Tubeworks underdrive unit on the rear of TH400. This is a reduction unit to allow for higher and stronger ratio to be run in rear end. Still doing lots of fiddly stuff. Hope to have front pushbar and radiators/heat exchangers and a few other goodies from the states in a week or so.

Yes still working on the trucks. Have been doing a lot of little fiddly stuff waiting for more things to come from the states. Have started front pushbars and can now finish off fuel tanks and pump set-up. Body is finally at the fiberglasses in the states. Body shown will be slightly modified but you get the idea.

Have finished all the plumbing at the front. Engine oil heat exchanger/powersteer/water bleeds etc. Now finishing off chassis so it can go to sandblasters next week and then to painters. Aluminium airfilter cover is the shape for carbon fibre mould. Shifter will come out the top of cover. There will be removable panel in centre of cover for access to filter.

First chassis has been sandblastered and is at the painters now. Not getting it powdercoatered but getting it painted using an electrostatic machine which uses an electric-magnetic charge to make the paint wrap around the tubes in simple terms making for no overspray and using far less paint. Next week will start to put it together and hopefully test in November as planned.

Have just got the engineers report back which is needed for Cams certification of the chassis.

In simple english 75 times the weight of the vehicle is applied to the main hoop and 35 times the weight of the vehicle is applied to the front hoop section with a maximum deformation allowed. For the main hoop it deformed 5.2mm with a maximum of 50mm allowed. The front section deformed 4mm with a maximum of 100 allowed.

Even the trucks designer in the States was impressed with these figures. They do not have to comply to these sort of requirements over there.

These figures are testiment to a very strong and very well designed truck. My biased view of course.

In simple english does that mean it is now bent?

Simple english?????....oh, does that mean you have built 75 more trucks and stacked them on top of each other?
If I was to buy one, I want the top one....unles the stack fell over, then I might look at the ones in the middle!

Headers and collectors back from competition coatings and are on for good.

The rest is made but won't go to coaters until clearance on bodywork is confirmed.

Panels will leave U.S in a day or two. Will get photo's up as soon as possible.

Do i get a cheap plastic trophy for getting past 20,000 hits or what? Be kind with the replies. I don't think it has ever happened before has it?

All brakes complete and bled. More panels finished and powdercoated. Wiring has been started. Body panels and moulds are on the boat and are due early Dec. Nearly time to go on corner weight scales to work out springs.

Can be arranged Gav, but let's wait to see what you will set the record with once the cars are complete, now that will be a record hard to beat!!

It's great to see how much interest this build has received and I hope it converts into some potential buyers of the finished trucks.

Good luck with the home stretch of this epic journey.

Would you mind publishing the corner weight figures when you do it?

Thanks Diane. You just never know what's around the corner in regards to breaking records etc.
And yes no problem with putting up corner weights etc. should be in a week or two.

Just got the axles as shown. They are 36 course spline, gun drilled and honed. They have a welsh plug in one end and an aluminium threaded boss in the other. They are what the trucks run in the US and what some of the big trucks run here. Window net set-up is finished. Top bar is spring loaded. Should have body in a week or so.
