MORE TROPHYKARTS?

Looks like there is plenty happening in the aussie trophykart world.
Apparently 20 new model 200RS karts are ordered and arriving mid year available for purchase!
Plus Verns Aussie built versions.
Looks like a series will soon be available to our off-spring....bring it on!

As one of the guy's who build, fund and race his own buggies, I'd be interested to see what a turn key Trophykart would set you back. They be a lot of fun to drive and would make a great junior class. ( maybe we can sneak a Busa motor into one for the big juniors)!!!!

The RS450 Mod would be the go. Where are they planning on racing them ? My young bloke is more than interested.

Apparently CAMS has not got anything organised yet, but I am assuming that once everything is going and demand is there that they might get the message (as we all know we cant expect too much from cams, after all this has been discussed for years now....easier to race on tar with no seatbelts in a go cart at 100kph....sorry there goes my sarcasm again). But, there are some very motivated people at present, and if it means a CAMs breakaway, then so be it....but my kids will be there!

I am very interested. Is CAMS going to look at organising a class for these before people buy them??

Would love to know whats happening with them.

There is pricing, just contact trophykarts australia. Probably a bit more expensive than hoped for, but a much better product than the originals.
CAMS have still not done anything (as far as I know), guess they are not interested in us off roaders (easier to take our money and invest it in tarmac), but....the people involved have been pushing as hard as they can, and a series will happen whether it involves CAMS or not!

Hi to everyone
the questions are a)  do we want to race trophy karts in Australia
                             b)   kids only or should all ages be allowed
                             c)  cvt clutch only  or faster karts with gear boxes
if the answer to do we want to race is yes ,we need to let cams know
how do we do that ?
do we start a petition ?
I know that i for one cant wait to race and my son is 10yo and he has been patiently waiting two years.

You can race trophy karts in Australia with cams, the karts just need to fit in with the rules that were set up by cams and Paul Simpson 3 years ago.

I dont think CAMS have allowed kids to drive, have they?
I realise that a car can be built within the CAMS rules, but whats the point if kids cant drive them!

This was in the november 2010 AORCOM minutes.

4. MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES
4.1 Trophy Karts
The Chairman, Mr Erceg wanted to update the Commission on his investigations into Trophy Karts both here and in the U.S. Mr Erceg believed the proposed Australian specification Karts would be the safer way to proceed due to various reasons including safety specs. Mr Erceg envisaged Trophy Karts being speed limited and aimed at Juniors as a great way to foster young talent into the sport much the same way go-karts do for racing. Mr Erceg noted that U.S specification Trophy Karts would still be acceptable to compete as long as safety specifications were met as per the requirements and regulations. Also, some form of parity must be implemented to ensure both Aus and U.S spec Karts are not advantaged in any way.

Anyone wanting to read the full minutes try this link.

Cams can only implement what the off road commission brings to them, the correct way to get anything done is take it to your club who will then take it to the state panel via your club reps then the state rep will take it to a meeting of the off road commission , if it is succesful then cams will get involved..
If everyone wants trophykarts contact your club or state reps in writing.

I think cams will not pass the imported 200rs models because the are made from exhaust tube.
Aussie offroad karts are 100% chromoly tube.

trophykarts made in the usa are made from 100% chromoly or toughened steel, clients choice depending on budget and opinion

Hey all, I just spoke to Vern from Kadco and I am now more than excited about Trophy Karts.
The prices were nowhere near as scary as I thought they were going to be and there are options of engines to suit your budget.

And it seems we are VERY close to seeing something in print from CAMS.

I can't wait, just gotta stop falling pregnant now, or wait for the littlies to be old enough to race.
