I ran stock 1600 kombi boxes for years with 2tg and 4ag toyotas, 1600, 1800,2000cc L series dattos............just throw in a stockie and go have fun for a while, worry about the rest if you start having problems.
Just make sure you have a good nose cone mount! And lock in your thrust race depending on the type you are using? Maybe try and run a reduction type/auto trans style starter motor to save bellhousing bush problems.
I also ran standard style clutch plates as I reckon button clutches were a bit harsh?
