Daniel spoke at the last SORRA meeting informing them that there are some buggies that are close to TORC specifications. Please find a discussion with Eliane about requirments for TORC spec buggies who wish to race at SORRA's November meet.
The buggies that meet TORC specifications "would need to undergo a Pre Log Book inspection and apply for Log Books for these vehicles. These inspections can be carried out by Ian Irons, my husband or myself but they do come at a charge to the vehicle owner of $50 per vehicle. We could probably look at reducing this cost if we could get them together or organise for them to come to whichever home is closest i.e. Ian Irons at Vineyard or our home near Liverpool. Other than the type of demonstration that we have been using i.e. no timing they cannot compete until they have Log Books. "
If you wish to obtain a copy of the TORC specification I will need your e-mail address. You can contact me by posting a comment to this topic with your e-mail address and i'll forward them to you.
We need qualified officials so we can hold our meets at Colo Hights. There is an introductory course being held at Homebush on the 17th September is a classroom type course where they learn about CAMS, what is expected of them as officials, etc. The Club Chief course is again a class room type course where they learn about how to organise an event and run it according to NCR's and safely.
Some member of the SMBC have done some training so they can put their names down to do this introductory course or do it online. Once they receive a General Licence they can then apply to do Club Chief or Scrutineers Course or even timing.
Time is running out for the November round if they want to compete as I need to submit Supp-Regs (and this must include details of how we intend to run the event and associated costs), so if there are some cars that believe they meet the specifications they need to ring Ian Irons 0407774348 or Nick and myself 0425212618 or 0403179591 to get pre-log inspections authorised so they can apply for Log Books.
can i get a copy of regs. as i would like to meet them and get the pre log book inspection. i should be close to passing email address is mkkeen@bigpond.com i'm also still waiting to get me details back so i can do the online coarse.
i found regs in previus page, have bit of work to do :) will have dual braking setup. need to change the roof thicker, and add the front roll bar suppports. better check and make sure it over 500mm before i go stuffing my powder coat...
i just got of the phone with cams, and they said i need a NO LICENCE.
THE LEVEL 1 licence is for none competitve events.
so all those wanting to get started get the N O licence. then have a pre log book inspection done. and applie for a log book.
hopefully this clears it up, now i just need to find out if i have to get either person listed above to do inspection or any pre log book inspector to do it?>
It is great to see some one so keen. If you hope to race (if SORRA approves) you may need a different licence because you are competing against other standard Mini Buggies. So far no one has told me that they intend to have a TORC standard buggy ready except you. The person that needs to know if people wish to race is Elaine Nikiforoff, so she can write it into the next meets criteria. This needs to be done for CAMS approval.
If you don't wantto race the standard N O license will do.
At the SMBC meeting you talked about a working bee but didn't mention the dates. on the forum it gives a date of 30/31 of August. Are these dates correct and are they the only dates. I'm putting the dates in the minutes and I'm asking people to help out. is it ok to tell them to bring their buggies to play as well.
Kevin
Hi Kevin, Sorry about being so late with dates, but here they are. We have planned working bees as follows
September 17/18
October 15/16
November 12/13
And probably the 5/6th November
All the Sunday Working bees will be catered for but still ring and give us numbers.
If you want to camp overnight and bring the kids ,thats fine.
If you are coming to the Saturday working bees, ring to let us know so we can organise times and food.
Ring Ian 040 777 4348
We want to make the track the best it can be for the State round in November
hopefully, the no licence will be whats if required for mini buggies. as i just sent it away today..
i want to get this sorted..
it is such a shame i'm the only person that has come forward about this.
i need to find out if any prelog book person can inspect the buggy, and not just the two listed on here, as there is two listed for bathurst on the cams website. and it would make it so much easier.
i will see how i go about making it for a working be, as i work 3 weekends a month, and the events/meets i have to take time off work to attend..
good stuff ewveryone, sounds like things are moving along! my buggy is no where near any specs so im keen to do social, and of course if you guys are racing i could be an offical of some sort.
i do have the paper work, just gotta do the online stuff to get offical training etc.
spoiltone, ul have to try and get in contact with daniel as i think hes very keen to go racing, just not sure where he is up to with his buggoy though.
I'm in for the long term but at the moment im still having engine problems and will just be concentrating on getting the buggy to the November meet at all let alone in racing condition. I have also posted somthing on the edge forum so hopefully we get a few more people interested.
is there any chance of getting a obsereved driving test done at the working bee? as it looks like i might not be able to make the novemember meet now..
should be able to organise that on sunday 13th working bee. A little bit of work ,a little bit of play ! give me a ring. (The next part is obviously not for you, but I thought if I put it here I wouldn't have to write it again)
SORRA CLUB Meeting this Wednesday, 8pm at the Wentworthville Memorial Bowling Club.
Last meeting before NSW State round at COLO PARK on the 19/20th November
If you can make it ,your input would be welcome.
