We really wanted to go in memory of Ray, but looks like we cannot make it!
We knew the car would not be ready, but wanted to go and do some recovery or cooking etc.
Good luck to all involved, wish we could be there.

Would loved to be there but due to a blown engine at colo and a couple of teeth missing of crown wheel I will not be there.

Good luck and have a great day

We won't be racing, still waiting on engine parts and front end to be finished, but Dad's going for a look.

Heat 1 was run over 3 laps of the 4.4km circuit. Jimbo Kearle was driving well leading the bunch by 35 seconds with Kelvin Hill being next home and David Nikiforoff in his prolite hornet one second behind him. Jeff Nichols in his prolite single seater had problems in the first heat when he blew an oil filter seal only to loose oil pressure but stopped the car before any damage was done. Mark-Paul Grant was still circulating but with an engine miss that was slowing him down.
Heat 2 had the full field running a ten lap heat of 44 km with Mark-Paul Grant in his performance 2wd Navara breaking a tail shaft only to put him out on
the second lap. Jimbo Kearle continued to lead with David Nikiforoff slotting into second place after the first lap when Kelvin Hill in the Chenowth ran out of rear brakes but still managed to finish. Murray Collins in the Performance 2wd Jeep was consistently reeling off the laps to stay in fourth position with Trevor Worthington from Albury in the performance 4wd Lada Niva keeping out of trouble and pacing himself over the race distance. Jeff Nichols was out of the running with a DNF in the first heat but still put in a good run being the second fastest over the ten laps.
Heat 3 and the final heat was run over three laps. Jimbo Kearle was still leading but had to slow his pace when a rear shock bolt failed and his bypass shock was swinging freely in the breeze. Kelvin Hill had his brake problem sorted as he put in the fastest time for heat 3, 15 seconds clear of David Nikiforoff in second position and Jeff Nichols the third quickest in the heat.

The competition was strong regardless of numbers with Jimbo Kearle winning the event outright 46 seconds ahead with David Nikiforoff in second place. David also won the Crookwell off road club championship that was run over four rounds during the year and then only 1 second back to third was Kelvin Hill in his newly acquired Chenowth prolite and Kelvin also won the Ray Vestey memorial cup being the car that finished mid pack.
.
That should cover it. Time sheets will be posted soon.

Wild Wheels Tv was there I didnt see anyone else taking photos.
