Went to Aussie World, near Maroochydore last week. I was very impressed that the dodgem cars backdrop theme was a full on off-road race scenario (even a 4wd and 2wd, plus 3 buggies) Looked great! Unfortunately they called it a speedway, but credit to whoever designed it :)
With the 1000's of people who visit, maybe ORRINC could utilise this type of advertising more often instead of old fashioned speedweek?
back in the 80s lindsay cooper owned the ettamogah pubs and puchased the ausralian championship winning car of charlie albins hence the offroad theme at aussie world ron milton also had the mechanical shop called pistn broke your history lesson for today
Thanks for the history lesson. What ever happened to Charlies old trekka, is it still running! I remember chasing him through the trees at Kempsey one year!
Our last car was Charlie's old Trekka. We purchased it from Phil Fraser (now PMD) and initially ran it in class 3 before moving to class 2. We sold it o Brad Cooper in WA (now running the BAT car). Last I heard it was still running in the WA series. So far as I know both the front and rear of the car had been widened.
I would love to see it back in my shed.... It was a really nice little car. I would have nought it back a few years ago when it was for sale if I had the money.
