Did anyone in Melbourne go to Rally Calder over the last few days?

What did you think of it?

We went today and werent really impressed. $103 entry for the family at a venue which has been neglected. There were bits falling off buildings, the grass (weeds) was knee high, overall it looked pretty shabby. The walk from the Tarmac stuff to the Rally section took about 15 min each way through some horrible slop.

Saw a few tarmac cars of which the most exciting was a HQ.

The rally section was a couple of corners surrounded by barriers so you could really only see a roof whizzing around and hear the anti-lag popping.

The SXS polaris crowd was racing about 500m away on the mounds surrounding calder park.

Thought this would be a great day to see multiple disciplines going flat out - nope. We lost interest during an 1hr long period with nothing happening and left. Went home to work on the buggy.

Given this was an ARC event I expected a bit more hype.

Give me an offroad event any day - Theres more noise and more action.
