ALUMICRAFT makeover

After a couple of months at the Micklefab workshop.   Gavin worked some magic on our Pro-lite buggy with the big job of replacing the Honda that had so many problems last year with a VQ 35 Nissan.

A lot of parts were custom made and the workmanship from Gav and John is one word   Outstanding.     Thanks guys!

Also a big thanks to Roly Dixon  from DAKARI Offroad parts for building a custom adapter plate and flywheel.     With still a lot of work to do we hope to get to the first National at Sealake.

Matt, are you saying his motor is not powerful, or are you trying to say something else?
Does look impressive Simpson, makes my ebay exhaust and heat proof paint look ordinary!
Hope to be at sealake to race against you, just be kind to me.

It's not me thats spending a small fortune on my engine Jones mine will be close to standard ask your mate Matt whats doing. The only thing he hasn't used is a stroker kit,  his will be FAST.

Were just lucky he painted it green.

are you sure a stroker kit has not been used, he seems to know a lot about capacities?
But dont worry Simpson, we all know a jimco wont cut-it in prolite, especially a green one with one seat!

And you would be right Steve, 550 h/p at the wheels in a pro-lite and not much of a brain behind the wheel.

Try 207hp at the wheels and  the weight of a tank.

207hp at each wheel makes 414hp, a bit better than my 165hp!
And you are 1 navigator less weight!

I don't know Jones he's lookn a bit heavy could be the same as the combined weight in my car for me and a daughter. And 550 h/p may be over the top more like 350 h/p i can't wait till it goes to the dyno FAST FAST FAST

Thanks Scott, from what iam told the VQ should have about 50-60h/p more.

The Honda sounded unreal when flat-out and the long straights at Finke it sounded like an F1 engine but unfortunately it was out classed by the VQ's at a national level.

It had a blown head gasket and a broken piston through the year which didn't help. So if anyone wants a 3.5 Honda in pieces then i have one cheap.

Hey Simpson, just wondering....... did you ever check to see if the honda had full throttle?
I might be interested in the honda, apparently they are HEAPS more powerful than the nissan. You must listen to the wrong people!
Maybe the brakes were dragging on your buggy, like some of the trucks you drive?

I luv you Jones & they get much better fuel consumption if you don't drive them hard.
