Great weekend was had by all. Second place to Swanny I can live with.
The long course was a true test of conditions and terrain which the car just loved. Thanks to HVORRA, the amount of work done on the track by the club and property owners was astounding.
With a bit of finessing the Camping, Paddock, Pit arrangement was great. I've never seen such a carnival atmosphere and so many people discussing cars and racing with the drivers and getting up close and interested in the sport.
Yes it was a great weekend. Thanks for the kind words AZ but you should consider yourself lucky we only got a chance for a wave. With Bob unable to attend It was a busy weekend for me and if I had the chance to hassle you enough to join me in Commentary I would have. On Bob I spoke to him today he is OK but still unwell and planning a visit to his heart specialist soon. Congrats to the winners and organisers you all did well, also to the 28 crews who finished 100% of the course out of the 76 starters. Webb Video was up there so I think a DVD may be coming.
yes was a great weekend, being my first time there, everyone was very welcoming. and had a blast. and i even finished all laps.
really tested my car, with a number of failures. with no power steering in the short course races, with a ram braking off the rack. but lucky was able to fix it during the break before long course, and a flat tyre in race one, and a loose gear shift in long course leaving me with only first and second. but i finished and had so much fun, even hit a kangaroo on the long course., on the last lap.
looking forward to next year.
thanks again to hvorra for putting on a great event.
Swan i need to find that shortcut you must have found. Yeah a good win but you defied all the experts by not taking a rear arm off, a fellow competiters door doesn't count.
Yes simpson i dont know what happend i hit the wall and it jumped into the door wopps it made room for the rest of the field. yes it was about a 4min short cut and about 7mins to you.
Swanny was only 4th fastest over the long course beaten by Damien Penfold, Adam Barnacoat and Garry Simpson. It seems the lead he built up in the medium and short course races was enough. All he had to do was race at a pace similar to those around him. Simpson was 1 minute faster over the long course. Obviously a winning strategy.
