rod ends


does any one else have dramas with there steering rod end hiem joints floging out in a couple of races ?

im running 3/4 x 5/8 hi miss alginment hiem joints , which i belive is what most beam buggy's run

and after a couple of races they get lose and even at times the teflon liner starts to come out of the outer housing

thats what i run with no troubles(i am probably a bit easier on the buggy)i seen rolys car at colo completly shot and done no miles,maybe the grade of the rodend,there is alot of difference in the load ratings?

you may need to look at the brand your using

we use fk usa brand

yeah im using FK also , some other guys i've spoken to say they have same dramas
tine - you have a lot more HP than my little 1600

i think my front end spends a lot of time very light or in the air under acceleration,so i guess it shouldnt flog rodends,they definitely dont last as long as the old internationals but they dont snap off like the inters,,

look up mcgill motorsports i used the ultra high performance rod ends, on old buggy for suspesionb never broke one or wore it out. and great price.



currently run on 128 in steering no issue. have done two events. so about 300km

cheers , have got another set of FK's for the moment ,
are the mgill units teflon lined ?
from what im making out the teflon liner is breaking up and coming out ,
the rod end hasn't broken just flogged out ,

hey spoiltone could you do me a fav ,
can you do a mesurment on your rear arms ,
from the spring plate across to the inner pivot bushing
mine measure 12' and i think your's will be around 15' but want to double cheak
as i know spizzo have 6 x 3 arms in the rear of that car

chassis is at powder coaters when i get it back i will

and yes it is 6x3 arms

and these joints are kevlar and ptfe lined they are better then teflon
