Wolf just to let you know Simpson isn't a SORRA club member he is a very proud Crookwell member. I think it's an awesome effort to take a stock standard VQ35HR powered prolite and compete against 7 litre class 1500 cars and come 5th out of 37 top cars and also do the fastest time out of the Aussie cars. It is a great effort for the whole Simpson team and with the problems they had during the race it is a credit to the support of Kevin Ottey, Darren Hardesty, Mark Randazzo and the rest of Team Simpson. Garry was having a great first lap til he stopped at the 100 mile mark for fuel and lost at least 15 mins when they came out straight behind 2 trophy trucks and had to suck dust til the end of the lap, then they did a driver change and Darren Hardesty got in ( I asked Ottey how it was to be in with him and the reply was " THAT MAN CAN DRIVE !!") and things we're going well till they got hit in the rear by 2 trophy trucks and broke the engine mounts, then with just over 10 miles to go the gearbox locked in third gear which slowed them as they had to limp home, then to top things off about 5 miles to go they lost oil pressure which made it a very nervous trip to the finish line but they managed it. The motor is now stuffed. So what a mighty effort by all the team, Garry & Amanda Simpson, Kevin Ottey, Darren Hardesty and Mark Randazzo. So again what an awesome effort for a little 3.5lt prolite to achieve a 5 th in class 1500 against 7lt cars!
Wolf I was told Swanny had 3 flat tyres and then a fitting broke off the fuel tank ending there race.

A great efort by all 4 Aussie vehicles and their crews. taking their machines and skills to the other side of the world to show them how we do it down here.
amazing.
Congratulations and all the best for the years racing to come.
Thanks for the write up kelvin, what a tough race my car seemed to handle the terrain better than most of the monster class 1 's and we got lucky with tough BFG 's and no flat tyres, a lot of repair's before she runs again!
