Good to see organizer just covering cost and not trying to make massive $$. Wait for Waikerie. National $200.00 cheaper than any other AORC round. Not in it for the money, just the event
Some competitors might be surprised at what it cost to run an event. Just because there is a large budget for an event, doesn't always equate to a large profit. Location, type of course, infrastructure etc. is all considerations that should be made before jumping to the conclusion that clubs are in it for the dollar.
Your are right Stingray, competitors vote with their entry. Value depends on what you are looking for, it is not just about the cost it is also about the benefit. Some people are looking for different things and that is the beauty of our sport - how do we manage it best for all of the different agendas. Just FYI AORC entry fees are approx 19% of the budgeted income for our event.
Over 50 entries so far, early entry closes this Friday & I'm guessing with the online entry system that the charge will increase automatically at midnight Friday. No way of getting away with sending it Saturday & blaming the postie like the old days.
