hello again everyone. due to the vast success of this forums knowledge with my other problems, youre my first port of call for my new problem..... congratulations on being so clever!
we took our Colorado to sealake for our first "serious hit out", prologued 3rd in class, started the race, all going well until the 60 odd km mark when our dipstick blew out of the tube and we lost drive.
does anyone have any experience rebuilding these and who to speak to, where to send them?? preferably in SA.
I don't want to get stuck with someone who builds transmissions to suit drag vehicles only and get one suited to that.
as always all advice and ideas welcome and appreciated
Howdy. I believe Danny patard does them for a few guys... I reckon his business name is lunatech transmissions at tailem bend. Don't kill me if I'm wrong lol
Hey mate, Bert Kewish Automotive in Dandenong (Victoria) always did the Turbo 400 transmissions on the trophy truck and we never had a single issue, i couldnt recommend him highly enough. Speak to David and you can get him on 03 9793 2220
thanks Danny, we got hold of Danny petard yesterday who seemed pretty switched on, and hes only 2 hours down the road from us.
my wife and fullscale on here are currently on their way to drop the trans off and get his opinion. fingers crossed we get it all done in time for Waikerie
thank you both for your help
You should have kept the Dummy spit video from the rear facing camera instead of deleting it. I would have busted my guts watching that. kicking the ground and almost falling over is GOLD.
full scale is refering to my dummy spit. hes just upset because we finished the prologue and he didn't.
my dummy spit only lasted until I found scotch!
the other dummy spit caught on a rear facing camera in sealake is mine. From when I realised I broke the axle, not the CV.... I kicked an innocent salt bush out of the ground, kicked the fence, threw my kidney belt and said lots of words which made baby jesus cry. haha. It was pretty funny stuff. :)
FYI... its also been deleted. :)

mine has a lot of head scratching, phone calls and a facebook photo update, then we got a drill and some bolts and put the turbo back on and finished the last lap :)
