The fast paced action of TROPHYKARTS, returns to the Ardlethan Showgrounds again in 2016.
April 9/10 , will be the first round in Australia, season opener.
We should attract a quality field of drivers, just itching to get their karts back on the racetrack after the off season. We have confirmed entries from South Australia and Victoria. NSW racers who will be travelling from Broken Hill, Sydney, and Newcastle.
Our Ardlethan locals, Lachlan & Brodie Jones, have upgraded to the adult class for this season. Fresh from winning the 2015 Australian Junior Trophykart Championships in 3rd & 1st place respectively, they will have to face some fierce competition from the older more experienced drivers.
The Ardlethan Trophykart Track and facilities have been built by local volunteers and sponsors. Located within our showgrounds, this track is fast becoming the best track in Australia. The local community welcomes racers with open arms, and enjoy the spectating.
Spectators are able to view the whole track, built similar to a motorcross track. Approximately 1km per lap, the karts can launch up to 2mtrs in the air, and at high speeds. Wheel to wheel style racing with multiple car starts, can lead to some extremely exciting moments, with roll-overs and minor carnage just a normal part of the sport.A modest gate fee raises some needed funds for our ARDLETHAN SHOW SOCIETY, and canteen facilities will be provided both days.
Trophy Karts are fully designed and built in USA. Approximately 1/2 size of a Trophy Truck, running a 450cc motorcycle engine for the adults, and 250cc for juniors. Suspension travel is around 30cm, allowing all obstacles to be tackled with ease. Australia now has 60 karts over here, with another 6 new karts due soon. CAMS Australia have been working through rulings, which will soon allow people to fabricate their own karts, adhering to strict TK specifications.
