TK Racing Story by a 14 year old!

A Colo Park race story according to a 14 year old!

After an 8 hour trip which felt like forever we finally arrived at Colo Park where we will be racing our TrophyKarts. TrophyKarts are a buggy model just made smaller with a 450 Hyosung quad bike engine in it reaching speeds up to 95km/h. After meeting up with the other racers we unpacked the Karts and took them over to CAMS officials to do scrutineering with everything checked and good it was time to get some sleep for a big day tomorrow.
Waking up too early to start racing (just remember in its never to early to go racing) we went and had breakfast before getting in the Karts and driving into the pits and having a final check over.
We then had a drivers briefing which outlines the rules where you have to drive to get onto the track etc and had a walk of the track to find our lines. Now we're back from the walk and it's time to race as I slip my helmet over my ears and hear the rumble of the engine I clip my 5 point seatbelt in and go line up, with my luck in starting last but am determined to work my way up the grid. As we are about to race you can see the 6 cars in front of me before we all take off rooster tailing the dirt far into the cold air as we all go for the first corner.
After a bit rubbing I managed to work my way past 1 racer which is a good effort considering this is only my second race in a 450cc, managing to get 6th. I managed to keep the work up for the whole day as two racers have blown their gearboxes I was sitting in 4th behind 3 experienced and very talented racers. So we just sat down for the night around a fire under the stars and talking cars. The next morning waking up earlier then the day before was keen to race as today is the grand final race which is 1.5 points so this is anyone's race anyone can win. As now there is only 5 racers I am starting off 4th next to Koby Hayden, I managed to beat him to the corner without a scratch but was still behind 2 racers. By the 3rd lap it was between us 3 for the win as we have pulled away from Koby remembering that we group back together on the 5th lap. Now we're all bunched up again for the restart off the start trying to keep up with the most experienced racers of TrophyKarts, I was just trying to wait for them to make a mistake as they were both trying to get 1st position, which didn't unfortunately happen. On the 2nd last lap we came into the tightest part of the track when the unstoppable Travis Milburn stopped right in the middle of the track leaving me no choice but to hit him, as I'm waiting for him to start up and move so I can keep racing another racer drives straight pass, now it is hard for me to turn right and at the next corner rolled my Kart due to turning failures and hitting the side of track. But managed to get pushed back over and retrain my 4th position behind Koby Hayden, Travis Milburn and Rick Bramley. As we finished the race and loaded up the Karts we had presentation with Travis 1st, Rick 2nd, Koby 3rd, me 4th, Bob Todd 5th, Lachie 6th and Jed 7th I would have had a podium if it wasn't for the accident but hey, that's racing.

Glad you enjoyed the weekend. The old fellas that work on the track will be trying to make it a bit better, for the toys that get to play on it ,as time goes.
