ban turbos

We should be looking at power to weight ratio 1st before these  changes

eg  .how can car  have 400 hp and weight 2001 kg aprox   compet against a  buggy  that has 400  hp and  weight 1000 kg aprox ?

If you have a truck that weights 2000kg and only have an engine that pumps out 400HP, no doubt you have the wrong engine in to start with.

I said "...... ......Oh good one Wolf you nearly got me there.

Power to weight ratio, so scutineering will require a dyno and a set of scales, Cars then rechecked at the end of the race to make sure the same power and weight remain, Gee that sounds like a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon. All I'm saying is that there are millions of ways to divide up the classes, it has an infinite numbers of answers, like how long is a piece of string.

It doesn't matter how it is done there will always be someone else with an advantage or dis advantage.

Personally, I think classes should be divided by colour (without being racist), This is easily explained to the average Joe spectating and if required at large events sub classes can run depending on light or dark shade, This is easily achieved as no car needs any modifacation. and you can look at what others are in and colour your car to suit who you what to race against.

Hair Colour - No good!  The only people I'll get to race against will be the blue rince set from the local lawn bowls club.

Im thinking we should divide classes by star sign.

Personally I 'll go with the hair colour, although I'm a little worried about racing by myself.
OH! ........NO ,that should be allright come to think about it, Looking around it could be destined to become the BIGGEST Class

instead of colours or star signs you could use religions , and the add bonus would be if you won your class you get to go to heaven  but the down side is if you dont win its off to hell . now thats incentive.

Problem with religion is, seeing as I am the founding father & to date, the only member of the church of the latter day wheelbarrows. I too would be the only one in my class. Maybe I should start a recruitment drive?

This is ridiculous!!
Good laugh though

However.......is extream racer onto something??
I think off-road racing is the only form of motor sport where turbos are not restricted
in any way(1.7 rule aside) when running in the same class as normally aspirated
engines. eg sports sedans which run up to 6000cc, some run V8 Chevs some run
turbo V6's, but the later have different multipication factors for engine capacitys.
If you run 2 turbos the factor is higher if you run multi cam/valve engines its higher again. Other classes where engines are turbo charged, and run with n/a engines have restrictor plates as well as multipication factors.
Something to think about perhaps!!??

And don't forget in the USA turbos have been banned for years in off-roading!!

Then again....Why have classes at all, just run what you brung!!!

Does bringing a trophy home at the end of the weekend increase the amount of fun
you had while racing........after all thats why we go racing isn't it......for fun????

like your little picture aztek, is that really based on personal experience?

i like the colour idea!  would that mean if i painted my car rainbow colours and won an event outright i could get 9 trophies plus navs.

bugger the fun, i am a trophy hunter!

Personally, I dont think theres anything wrong iwth the turbo rule anyway.  Perhaps we should restrict turbos and forced induction to pro class only....

Who is the supreme being in the church of hte later day wheelbarrow?  Is it a bricklaying religion?  Im thinking I might start a church of the latter day agnostics.  And if you win in my division you get your choice of 69 *edit edit edit edit* or one reeeally, reeeeeally dirty *edit edit edit edit* when you get to agnostic heaven!

hehehe...

(agnostic heaven)

My congrats to Aztec good to see common sense about such a serious issue,In all my years of off road racing  these turbo cars are gettting out of hand and should be dealt with.GAYS stay away as this subject is more important than your hair rinse.I SAY BAN TURBOS,maybe CAMS should see this.

don't know about power to weight ratio but your comments on hp and weight are right on the money as for bringing trophies home, once you've got the bug racing is in your blood and it will be fun anyway trophy or not

bigger engines could mean more fun, but with that comes more cost, more fuel, cars which are now not competetive in class due to lower powered engines, have i mentioned more money

the only way for it to work would be to create a new class entirely or just work it into the class restructure
