New Rules

Ive not seen an official announcement yet, though as I understand it they are:

Pro Class (or Open Class etc) up to 6Ltr or any forced induction
Class 1 - 1650cc to 3500cc normally aspirated
Classes 2 to 8 stay the same
Class 9 amalgamates into whatever class your engine fits into.

For us and the guys with 4.0 lexus or 3.8 holden engines....  what to do?  Personally for us we're not going to run pro class in nationals as we'de be stupdly uncompetitive.  We'll be running state instead.

How does it affect you? What are your thoughts?

As I said, this is my understanding of the rules and may be wrong - Im not sure when an offical announcement will be posted.

i like the idea!

i thought up to 4.0ltr would have been good as more engines are available at budget minded prices!

but after some discussion i can see the idea of 3.5ltr as you could run new class 1, but if you decide to, you could mount turbos or superchargers and step-up to pro class (not breaking the 6.0ltr rule)

just waiting for confirmation now, hopefully in time for engine conversion before warialda, then off to hyden next year.

anyone wanting to buy 2 X 1UZ engines? anyone wanting to sell some sort of performance 3.5ltr?

The new class one rules make alot of sense to me.

Consider this, it is not too difficult or costly to get 450-500 hp from a N/A
6000cc engine. The LS1 is a good example You will have competitive power for
national events

It is very difficult and costly to get 450-500 hp from a N/A 3500cc engine.
If you look at the Rover 3500 at its peak in the brittish touring car series they had at best 350hp.

Comments ?
