What do you think of Start Lines Today?

Having been reduced to a bit of a spectator lately, I started to notice that Start Lines need to be addressed

With the increasing speed and cost of the cars today we need look and reducing the risk of competitors walking away with severely damage cars or the possibility of a serious accident.

If you look at other (tarmac) circuits around Australia they have all been upgraded to take the increasing speed of cars; yet off-road have done nothing

I know you can’t make the whole track safe, dust tree and other obstacles will always be a factor, but I believe that start lines to the first corner need to be 100% safe every time.

Where we have single car starts there is no issue.

What do you think?

an update to start lines even if it is a  single car start would be good as the start line is where most of the spectators gather. What I'm saying is upgrades to specator areas, which generally is the start line area would be good. I don't know if any of you have seen Hyden, but the start line area there is great and would be a good model for other tracks if it is only going to be used for single car starts

Good point, there was a few near misses at Warialda. Then there was the damage that was done to a few cars at The Milbrodale Mountain Classic.

May be the first corner at Warialda should be a little more wider, or have those BIG tyres replaced with something more forgiving.

How about staggard starts? Instead of having 2 cars starting on the same mark, have the faster start a foot or two in front.
