Cams Manual GRs

Hi all Anyone looked at the new online manual yet?

A quick reading suggests that many vehicles will require work to comply!

I refer to comply with GR9 and side intrusion bars, your thoughts?

I was refering to GR9 as is described in SRs.

SR 1.1 States ,All buggys comply with GR2-29, (which includes GR9 ) then in class SRs highlights the following.

SR 1.2,3,4,5 States, SpecificallyAll .............. buggys must comply with GR9, including side intrusion bars.

My query being, does this over rule the implementation clause in GR9 and are ALL BUGGYS competing in the above classes now required to comply or does the implementation clause still apply.

Clubman class does not get a mention re specifically required to comply.

Your thoughts? and does anyone reading this know the background/reasoning of the current wording of the SRs.

Okay, i "think" i know what you mean now, although to start with i would suggest that you direct your enquiry straight to Campbell Andrea at CAMS in Melbourne for ultimate clarification.

The way i read things, nothing has changed, it's just a simple matter of the new writing of the manual does not specifically nominate that GR9 applys to SR1.6 Clubman Buggy. This is maybe just a simple oversight in compiling the manual for 2007 to accomodate the new class names?

However, SR1.1 General, does indicate in part "all buggies must comply with GR2-29" so i believe it takes precedence and clearly indicates all the buggy classes must comply with GR9.

Also, logically, there is no reason for the Clubman buggy class to be any different in compliance to the other classes?

As i said earlier though, for ultimate clarification speak directly to Campbell.
