Remy l spoke to the guys from foa today they want me to let you no that thier shocks arn't intended for your needs. They are aimed at the budget or club racer and not the $50,000.00+ car. If you want to perform at a national level buy King,Fox,Kadco,Aushock ect. But if you are like me and run a $10,000.00 class 3 using any coilover is moving up. These are a budget shock for the club racer.

l am now the FOA Shocks agent for Australia so if you are interested drop me a line. There is also a oil accumulator on the books and Bypass shocks will be offered in about 6 weeks. We are building a new pro-class car at the moment so it will be the test bed for Aus development. If you want to see or read about the products go to www.f-o-a.com

FOA'S new 2 tube and 3 tube bypass shocks are in the final testing stages at the moment and will be available shortly. They are in the 2.5 series and also have a new rod end for all the race series shocks which eliminates it's only percieved weakness.
Also being tested is a position sensitive shock which will be priced between the coilover and bypass shocks but they are all still budget priced.
Bypass shock photo is the prototype with the coilover and 4 seat test mule.

Hi guys just thought l would give you a chance to see what the guys in the states are saying about FOA shocks and if you want to read all the posts you can see the company develop over time.
www.race-dezert.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25589
they have put a lot of time and effort into these shocks and are a good and cheap product for budget racers.

Hi Guys just boring you with another update, Bypass shocks are only a couple of weeks away and you will be able to get them in two different forms a) standard tube placements and b) custom tube placements which won't cost much extra and means you will be able to work around the cars and not the shocks.
Thanks
Kevin

Rough pricing at the moment is $625 for a 2 tube and $675.00 3 tube which could vary up to $30 dollars each way with final pricing. These prices are at todays exchange rate which governs price as they are built to order. They will be on the market in 1 week and coupled with our coilovers will be a great package for performance and price.
Also coming soon will be a Full Tube Chassis mini lite trophy truck with V6 ecotect power plant, turbo 350 trans and Curry 8" diff with FOX shocks each corner and 33" x 15" tyres on beadlocks with 20" travel on all four corners with a Chev fiberglass body for Stadium racing and Desert racing as well for under$50,000 ready to race. Also could be used for Class 1 Pro lite
Enquiries will be taken now at bosstruck@optusnet.com.au

To the Offroad parts supplier who to the best of my knowledge has never handled or even seen a FOA shock please talk to me before you go around telling stories about about a product you no nothing about. The one thing you did have right though is these shocks are not King or Fox or even Radflo for that matter and from the start l have said this. This product is new to the market and given time to develope will hopefully claw its way to the top, but for now it is a shock aimed squarely at the budget type competitor such as myself. If you have the money by all means buy the brand name shock, if l had the money l would. If you would like to save $2,000 to $4,000 depending on your set up these are the shocks for you. They are fully rebuildable by the owner and all fox parts do fit, shims ect so they are readily available in Aus even from the before mentioned supplier, so tuning these shocks to your needs is not a problem. All l ask is before you believe the man who is trying to sell you a product by de-meaning another product is think "does he have my best interest in mind or is he trying to fatten his wallet a little more at my expense".
If you have any questions don't hesitate to call me Kevin on 0418773057 and if l can't give you the answer on the spot l will get you one from the manufacturer within 24 hrs.
Also l want to congratulate Ken Buckley from NZ on his efforts in the Taupo 1000 with his new FOA shocks fitted. He finally got his car to handle now all he has to do is strengthen the rest of the driveline for the higher sustained speeds.biggrin

Hi guys, Chris with FOA Shock Absorbers here. Just thought I'de drop in and tell you a bit about us.
We are a brand new, small company based in Las Vegas Nevada, USA. Our goal when we started all this was to build a good, solid performing shock absorber at a price more people could afford. Our intention was to cover the bases for all the 4x4, sand buggy, pre-runner, and play car crowd. Those are the ones that don't NEED to spend huge amounts of money on a "race" shock to get the performance they want.
We wanted our shock to have all the good things you find in a quality race shock.....rebuildable, revalvable, large oil volume, big steel shafts (.875), hiem joints, etc. After much trial and error, we figured out how to get it all at the price we were shooting for. It turns out that the shocks work even better than we had planned. While we don't market them for racing, they are already being used on race cars with good results.
Kevin mentioned many of our shocks parts are exchangable with a FOX shock....he meant to say KING. Since he was addressing a FOX dealer, I can see the slip-up. Basically, our shocks will use the same seal kits, wear bands and shims as the KING shocks will. If you are in a bind and have a KING dealer near you, you're in business.
Our bypass shocks are still in the works. The testing stages have been done for awhile....it's just been alot of work to reduce the production time of them to where we need it to be, to offer them for the price we are shooting for. It will be worth the wait!
Kevin is the guy to speak to about getting some for yourself. Let me or him know if you have any questions......we'll be happy to help. CHRIS

l had a phone call from Cameron Richie today and as he was distresed about what l have written before l would just like to let his customers know that it wasn't him l was talking about. And l must clarify that all the major sellers over here in Aus are great guys and have only the best interests of the sport and people involved in it at heart.
l have bought products from Racer Imports, BPM, The Offroad Shop and Wizard and l nothing but good things to say about them and would recomend them to anyone.
Also from all reports Rivmasta is a great company to deal with.

In Australia there are two rockcrawlers already using them, a winch challenge car, 2 pro-class cars have just bought them, my car is being built with them on it, 2 cars in NZ have them fitted for off-road racing and if you PM motochris l am sure he will give you any info you would like. Like we have said before this is a new product on the market and it takes time before you get a brand name and people buy from your reputation. Ask me this again in 12 months and then we can throw a lot more names at you.

There's a class 5 car testing with them now and they are very happy. A couple Jeepspeed vehicles (those guys are HARD on shocks), a CORR Pro-Lite, plus a large number of pre-runners. We've shipped a ton of shocks lately to cars headed for pre-running the Baja 1000.

The "FOA" comes from the owners old race team name. "First Over All racing".

One of our USA customers has a Nissan Titan pre-runner truck. He had FOX bypasses front and rear, but because shocks were being stolen alot lately, he decided to put our shocks on his truck until he needed to actually pre-run a race course. Here's his reply to me asking how our smooth body reservoir shock ($170 US) compared to the FOX 2 tube bypasses ($595 US) he removed.

"I was surprised that the FOAs felt and handle better than my bypasses did. I still need to valve them for a bit less compression. I was at Razor road riding MX last weekend, I put the FOAs to the whoop test, and they sucked them up better then my FOXs did. I will be going to Dumont Dunes in 2 weeks and will try to get some suspension vids of the whooped out section and a few jumps."

Here's the link to the thread page.... http://www.dezertrangers.com/vb/showthread.php?p=771289#post771289

Ok l suppose the cat is out of the bag if you read the link to Desert rangers but we will have out shortly 4" travel bumps with the 2.5 bypass just about right for sale and a 3.0 shock on the drawing board so we will be coming into some exciting times at FOA with us being able to cover a hole different sector of the offroad suspension market. We are commited to making offroad affordable for all with a well priced and performing shock with all the same back-up services you recieve from the much higher price brands.

I keep meaning to post this and keep forgetting. Here's a link to a review of our shocks by Jeeps Unlimited..... http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/mambo2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=98&Itemid=32
They are more of a 4x4/rockcrawler site, but it's still good info.

You have only 4 days left for our shocks at the special prices and with the way the Aussie dollar is we are able to give them to you at a little better prices than those quoted. Call and find out what we can do for you.
