It will be good to see oyu over there Jones.... Like you, I hope it isn't as wet as it was last year. I have never been so wet and cold in all my life....
Hav'nt been there before, but heard the stories! Feel sorry for you trekka...standing in the cold rain taking pics would nearly be as bad as racing a buggy. Those days it would be good to own a class 7. We are taking the playstation, if it rains we will stay in the cabin...bugger the racing! Heard aztek and others have been working on the "number one", I'd be a bit worried Paul.
We are going down early and spending a few days doing the tourist bit around Mt Gambier etc...can anyone recommend any sight seeing activities?
It is a great track, you will love it!! And I think your car would be well suited to the track.
Last year... it was terrible!! I don't think I have even been that wet when standing in the shower!!! From 8am in the morning until about 3 in the afternoon I was in the rain, freezing.... When I walked the water actually squeezed out of the tops of my shoes!!
Mt Gambier is a nice place! YOu can visit Blue Lake dam, lots of other little areas around there as well. More chick stuff,....
Hows the weather going down there? Adelaide's weather looks nasty this morning...can the orginizers make sure the sun comes out soon? Something like a mild 25 deg would be preferable for the 15th...sunny, and a light breeze to clear the dust!
Hi Jones, according to my fav weather site www.weatherzone.com.au, the weather is showers Fri, drizzle Sat & cloudy Sun. All days have a very tropical max temp of 12 degrees. Better pack the sluggo's & the sun screen!!!
here are some videos of last years event, just found them on google video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6637140085898085047 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-879195015541262069 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7596850774077834884 Dash for Cash looks fun!!! :)
Brad prout out with gearbox failure, 10km from the Teagle Quarry on his last lap. Matthew (swan) Martin Clutch, Paul Grant and Paul (Grub ) Ritchie Gearbox. I Believe Steve Jones is out, not sure what has happened.

Jeez Trekka, no wonder you have so many photos...every time I came around a corner, you were there...how do you move so quick? Or am I really that slow? Good to meet you stingray. I wore the sluggers, (hope it didnt scare too many), but forgot the sunscreen...guess I'll be sunburnt for a while now! Does anybody know how to keep a subaru engine cool? I have blocked all the heater hoses etc, should I have left a bypass hose or something? (its not the thermostat, radiator etc) I will now fit my spare engine to see if that might be the problem, but I cant see any problem with the current one. I believe Prouty broke an axle...very sad after an impressive drive all day. VERY well done to Rentch and Burrows (and other place getters and finishers), I dont know how anyone (or buggy) can physically drive a track like that at that pace all day.
AND A VERY BIG compliment to the organisers etc, the event was extemely well organised, great spectating, and everything on time!
Any interest in a package deal--chenowth, goose neck trailer, and F250....thats what will be available if the car overheats at milbrodale!
Hahaha Mate, I only ended up at the top of that straight by accident.... I started to walk up the straight thinking it would have a nice kink in it somewhere... after 30 minutes it finally did!! The walk back down the hill was much easier then getting up there, I can tell you!! It is actually a really good track for taking photos at, as it isn't particularly long and you get to see the cars a lot.
If you are only looking for a grand or two, I will gladly take the car off your hands!! :) Any more than that and the wife will just say no :(
Millicent has always been very hard on drivelines. The ground is a very heavy sand in a lot of places, and as more cars go over the ground it gets chopped up more and more. I know from having raced there in the past that we used to often drop down a tyre size or two and run a less aggressive tread pattern to help lessen the load on the drive shafts, cv joints, 'box, etc.
Steve, you are very lucky that the race isn't happening now.... it is much colder now then it wa slast weekend!!
