Theres a bit of talk about that car going on in the beach buggy community.
Theres alot of speculation that its not a hornet but one of the early meyers manx tow'ds that has been butchered and lengthened. (I can see wayne horsfalls jaw drop to the floor!) At the very least its running tow'd panels and the floor/hip rails are the right positions for a tow'd.
Shame if its true. It should be an extra 100 years in purgatory for cutting up a classic. Still not as bad as the guy on ebay who was selling the resto HR holden which had a non turbo SR20 in it.
Dont panic...its not a towd. I'm pretty sure its an old cheetah buggy (the panels definately are). We bought one in the late eighties, and raced it into the early nineties. Ours was built specifically for the Bridgestone international (unsure by who), it is in some old videos, and another cheetah appears in one the off-road year books. Our old one is sitting in Les Siviours shed, he bought it for the girls (Bobby and Katie) to learn to drive in, before they started driving the nissans!
