Rick and I saw a mate dribble water into a carb to clean the carbon out of the engine. ie - very hot to very cold very quick cracks the carbon and it flys out the exhaust... and that was on a customer car!
sand though - thats funny. :)

Cant download the link, but I have heard AJAX powder down the carb will de-glaze the bore/bed in the rings!!!! Done the water trick...that actually works well. As for smoke, what about filling the rear muffler full of deisel?
the link is from an audi forum of a guy who's mate told him that to port and polish the heads on his audi turbo engine he had to suck sandblasting sand through the motor. this will polish the intake, exhaust and chamber as well as give it a bit of a port. and as long as you dont rev it hard enough to go 'on boost' it wont affect the turbo. so he tries it.
now the engine clanks, groans, is hard to start etc - would it still be safe to pick up his gf at work?
