hi guys does anyone use dunnydoor cvs/axles because i found a set of axles off a commodore ute fitted buetiful bolted up to porchse stubs just needed to make adaptor for kombi box thought all would be good
thinking life was great and all was good but in my stupidity have found that the outer cv doesnt slide in and out have found on outer that the outer bit and the inner bit are machined different to the inner cv inner and outer bit please excuse my high tech language
thought no worries sedan cvs are both the same on either end/ ill just swap him over bigger but the splines are different on ute axles outer spline is smaller than inner spline
ive gone for comm. stuff because its cheap as 25 dollars 2cvs 1axle now i have issues q1 will they work with only one floating per side or will that limit my travel q2 if they wont work does anyone have the technoligy to machine cv inner and outer bit to match q3 has any one successfully cut and shut and balanced an axle q4 does anyone reweld then re spline axles or does anyone know about the different splines and if so do holden make a proper cv that floats to suit the outer spline by the way it will be a class 3 i need to sort this so ican set travel and mount rear shocks
mate let be known i wasnt having a go at class 5 cars or class five anything just responding to your comments sorry if ive offended u or anybody else that was not wat its all about as i said just responding to your sa response thanks paul
Hi pro, sorry its taken so long, i think it would be best to have them floating at both ends, we don't acually use the axles on our cars ,we just use the bearing housing, stub axles and brakes but i've seen on the ALBINS website they make heavy duty commodore axles to lenght, might be best talking to them to see whether they can make what you need, hope thats helped
