My money is on Chappo!  His new Jimco is awesome, and he has had some good results at Hyden already!
Don't think you could ever go past Rentch either.

What ever happens 2008 is going to HUGE!

Shannon is always hard to go past, but I think if the car hold together, Chris Coulthard in the Hawker Jimco will be tough to beat. Very, very quick driver....

It should be out of 2 Dave Fellows and Brad Prout, a dark horse is Beau Robinson he has now had 12 months in his new car and is due for a good result.

Great coverage on Offroadracing.com.au.
Both the text and the call from Rusty!

Offroadracing.com.au live call from Hyden has to be one of the best things to happen to this sport in a long time, Rusty's call is great to listen to.

Sounded like a great race congrats to Shannon and Ian Rentsch on thier win, it was also good to see Travis Robinson do so well in his first drive.

Travis did very well first time out. I see both of the other OBR cars had engine problems...

Waiting to hear what has happened to Matt Hanson. He seemed to have the Porter going really well, around 4th/5th outright. Haven't heard what has happened to him yet.

Travis did extremly well he is one to watch in the future. Do OBR need to send thier other 2 cars to Greg Campbell for prep as well seems that he builds them pretty well bullet proof if Travis and Brad Prouts car is anything to go by.

well done to the westerns, matt and chris for 6th and 11th. Well done on the Top 10 for nev who by looking at the times looks like he was getting more comfortable witht he car each session.

Hey guys firstly have to congratulate the western desert racers on a top class event, they have definately set the standard for the rest of the nationals this year..... Great job guys!!!!

And WOLF to answer your question.... chappo had serpentine belt alignment issues, but the new champion loooked and sounded the goods...... phillips had a gearbox issue..... fellows was an oil line problem...... hanson was on the side of the track at the beginning of the last lap, not sure what he did?...... 2 robinson cars were engine related....

Mike

Matt Hanson broke a drive shaft.

A real shame, he was in 4th outright at the time and only one lap to go. His times up until that point were looking very competitive.

hi gary just got back to bris. after 44hrs driving but worth it a great event. my first mistake was tyre choice for the point to point 550hp on slicks in the wet not good. so sunday was to circulate and keep it out of the trees lucky the ones i picked were  small ones and the spin out was in front of the spectators oh well. so there was nobody more suprised than me to be 8th from 23rd . the drive of the weekend as said before was travis robinson
