Patchy information coming through from the Finke race, but Fellows is clearly dominating out front. Coulthard is probably quickest of the rest from Rentsch, Chapman and Prout. Pinto, Burrows and Owen appear to be out of action already.
Hayden Bemtley, Buddy Crowe, Eric Phillips, Mark Burrows and Danny Brown are in the next group of cars that have gone through the Mt Squires checkpoint. Seems my info about Burrows being out was incorrect.
Buddy Crowe, Mark Burrows, Danny Brown, James Madden and one of the Robinson cars (i think it is Travis) have now finished. Looks likely that Hayden Bentley and Matt Hanson have succembed to the track.
If my information is correct, Fellows has gone from Alice to Finke in an hour and 47 minutes, which is f&%$#ing amazing. Coulthatd 4 minutes in arrears, Shannon another 2 minutes behind, Chappo another minute back, 5th overall is very close with Brad just pipping Buddy, Mark is 7th. The 1st 7 cars home all under the 2 Hour mark. Terry Rose was next followed by Danny Brown. Travis Robinson rounds out the top 10 to get to Finke.
A little bit of information in the class battles. Watt is leading Mowles in Pro-Lite. Page is out i think. In Extreme 2WD, Gallard leads from the Gwynne brothers running 2nd and 3rd, not sure which of Bernard or Robert is ahead? Gartner must have retired early.
I see that 9 buggies have out-done the fastest bike time!!! FULL credit to the bike riders (much harder than driving a buggy), but good to see the speed of the buggies!
-Beau Robinson hit a tree on the back wheel. -Glen Owens spat an alternator belt. -Gartner had a fuel tank issue. -Pinto had turbo issues. -Bentley, either motor or gearbox or both. -Travis Robinson came in 10th on a flat tyre in the car aheads dust! -Team Rentsch running well on a loaner box from Eric Phillips. -Brian Robinson slowed down by loose wheel studs.
The 1st 4 cars have reached Mt Squires on Day 2, Fellows, ahead of Coulthard, Rentsch and Chapman. Prouty, Buddy and Mark Burrows will have a close battle this morning. With the ridiculous restart system at Finke for the top ten, Buddy will start only 7 seconds behind Prouty, with Mark another 19 seconds behind.
5 cars have passed through the 2nd checkpoint at Rodinga. Fellows, Coulthard, Rentsch, Prout and Robinson. Prouty has some very good pace along with Travis Robinson. Not sure what has happened to Chappo. Looks like Buddy (Julson driving) and Mark Burrows have stopped.
Fellows and Coulthard have now passed through Deep Well.
Latest news is that Travis Robinson is out, got no details though. Brad Gallard is flying in the truck and could move up overall to about 7th outright.
