I believe they start with the actual time gaps that they have over night. eg 1st is 30 seconds ahead of second, then 1st starts the section 30 seconds before 2nd, all the way through the top ten. After that I think its 1 minute gaps regardless of there time gaps. It means on track position is there acutal outright position in the race

I think the restart system isnt a bad system... but as I anticipate I'll never be in the top 10 at finke for Monday I dont have to worry about it!

For the restart at finke, cars are started on actual gap for the first twenty minutes only not top ten, then at one minute intervals.

I know its only been a couple of days, but it's a shame that the Finke website has'nt been updated yet. (pics, race report etc)
Does anyone know much about the motorbike death?
Congats to 'Grabbo' on the bike win!
And Fellows for the buggies (how fast must these blokes be going!)

There are alot of news stories about the guy on the bike that hit the tree on the net if you google it.  Basically lots of info which says that he was 37, hit a tree and that it was the 3rd death in the events history.  Other than that not much info.

Yep, fast!  someone worked it out to an average of 133km/h.

*edit* just read an article which said there were 12 visits to alice hospital for competitors.  Campbell was one, anyone else in a car shipped there?
