I hope to be up there, still got a fair list of things to get done this weekend but should be OK. What about you bug308...are you coming down to give us a hand??
I also heard that after reading the dates on his belts properly....the "farmer" may show up as well

No excuses mate... I can give you a hand on the weekend if you need it.

He might be ducking a head to head battle with you 568
NOOOOOO, for the final time........I am NOT going (wish I was though). Would love to see Azteck go now that he appears to be driving faster, and to see Werners new buggy, but its just not going to happen! Anyway, got to wire-up Slows car that weekend, goodluck to everyone going!
B.T.W., who told you about the seatbelt dates? Oh, theres only one 'farmer', and I expect Murray will be racing!
Ha Ha, I did say APPEARS to be driving faster....still got a lot to prove yet! (btw, that book has been handy, do you now any printers that could release it, oh sorry, thats in page 9 excuses)
But yeah, we should all be scared of Slow's new weapon....or would 'nervous' be more appropriate! Slow should be here soon, be interesting to see the buggy, especially with the 'quality' work he is re-nowned for!
Again, goodluck to all involved :) best get to the pub now.
Ha New weapon i dont think so it will be just a little bit stronger. But the drive is still slow. Had a bit of a look at the jones track and the pits should be good.
this is all i know from today 1st Chappo 2nd Naps 3rd Thomas OR AZTEC. Buddy and Terry dnf with g-box troubles. stocky 2 flat tyres, hoppy tie rod, Werner's new buggy is look SEXY.
You are right, Werner's new buggy looks great. He took it very easy on the weekend, just circulating to get some time in the car and have it ready to run in a few weeks at Goondiwindi. Fantastic workmanship on the car, Greg did a really great job building the car.
Also, for a firsat time visitor this event, it was great!! Great to watch from, lots of interesting areas for the spectators to view, etc. I only saw Sunday's running, but it was a very impressive event. I didn't have much time to scout areas for photos, but hopefully I got some that you might like to see. I haven't been through them yet, but hopefully they will be up on the website by next weekend when I get home.
It was very hot, Buddy was on fire, (wish the same could be said for the water truck) we had crop dusters doing strunts over head, GRID GIRLS, Rusty on the mic, cars rolling to the left and the right, did I mention the GRID GIRLS, it was all happening.
We had a great weekend up there, just have no idea where we ended up! At no point over the weekend were we regrouped in outright order and in section 2 we stopped to assist Fehlhaber(102) after he rolled and caught fire in front of us, all I know is we finished 4th on the road, with Spizzo in front of us and Flash right behind.
If anyone knows the final results I sure would like to hear from them....
It was a great weekend, and thanks to everyone for your great comments , Sue & I are really happy with our new Jarvi , it didn't miss a beat all weekend. A wash and spanner check this weekend and its all ready for Gundy in three weeks for more seat time. Its been 4 years since I sold the last buggy so I can live with being "slow" I'm happy enought with where I prologed, but haven't seen the final results yet but finishing was what it was all about.
It was a great weekend despite the rollover. Az the GRID GIRLS were spectacular, oh yeah so was the plane... LOL
On a serious note I want to thank the officials, paramedics and voluteers that reacted extremely quickly to get my Dad and I out of the car and for all their efforts in treating the old bugger.
Apart from some bruised ribs he's doing well and will be back in teh silly seat next season.
I also wish to appologise to the guys that I held up on the long course but as I previously mentioned to them as soon as I knew they were there I let them through. Hopefuilly there are no hard feelings.
I look forward to coming out again to play in next years season, I am going to take the time now to repair my car and sort out some of the issue that it has.
Watch this space my PIT crew/camera man will have his video clip ready soon.
Thanks for the reports....since when were grid girls involved? Are they what caused many of the roll-overs? Or was it easier to see the cropdusters when you're upsidedown?
The 'Jarvi' does look really good with the graphics, look forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Pity about not knowing final results, it was frustrating at home trying to find out also, maybe next year someone might volunteer to release a few emails over the weekend......but sounds like the rest of the weekend was good!
We just had a little rollover nothing to serious the car is fine apart from the right hand side A & B pillars being slightly bent.
I am not a 100% sure what happened, we got a flat after 3 corners in and winning our start, limped back to the pits to have it replaced that took longer than it should of which didn't help. I got a bit hot under the colar and then I came out a bit hard, put it into a corner a little hard and we got an edge or something and then over we went. Landed on the Nav's side then we must have gone up on the nose of the car and then it finally landed on my side.
This happened on the 2nd HEAT on Saturday arvo, we still managed to complete 2 heats on Sunday.
I need to change the final drive as it's currently way to aggressive, up my tire size to 16x315x75 increase my 2nd stage spring rate and add some good quality pneumatic bump stops.
While this is happening the engine will be converted to EFI which should help with lowend throttle response and overall performance/economy.
The tranny needs to be rebuilt again as I lost 2nd gear and I have to invest in some good coolers the box reached 260F, I nursed it through the long course using only top gear and it came back down to 160F.
It will all be sorted in time for the 2009 kick off.
Finally, my pictures from day 2 of the Warialda event are up on my website. Sorry for taking so long to get them up!!
Hopefully you will be able to find something to interest you there.
Let me know if there are any problems finding images of certain drivers, etc.
I just noticed that the sizing isn't correct, you can't see the images at the full size possible. This is due to an error when I was resizing the imgaes for uploading to the web. I will fixt his tomorrow night and you should then be able to see all of the images at full size. Sorry!!
