Wheels

Have got a couple of general questions about wheels. I am playing around with designing a front suspension and need some basic dimensions to work from.

On a 15 x 4.5 rim what is the inside diameter of the rim? What offsets are sort of standard? Do the all of the rims (or at least most) have the same stud pattern, if so what are the stud pattern dimensions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont have the answers to your question, but a suggestion that if what you are designing is an a-arm front you might consider running the same size tyre and rim front and back.
This makes it so that you only have to deal with one size tyre to carry around to races, as well as your spare.
Just food for thought, good luck.

It depends on what type of wheel - Centreline? BTR? OzWheel?  Stud pattern should all be VW wide 5, you could look up the PCB on the net somewhere I guess.

Used centerline as an example. Found a lot of the info I was after here

http://www.centerlinewheels.com/wheel_deals_detail.php?id=12573&type=bolt&data=5-205mm

Only thing it doesn't give me is the inner diameter of the rim to know how much room there is behind there.

Would wider wheels on the front make steering to heavy? 8.5's all round might be the solution.

We had ozwheels (centreline looking items) that we couldnt use as the caliper fouled on the inside of the rim. BTR's in same size (4.5") are fine.
