just looking though old posts and wanting to know hows the band practice going. is this band going to be a goer as it would be a great night around the fire.
Saturday evening at Crookwell should be great. Wonder what songs & music Jonesey's got the group practicing ready for the night. Geez, Jeremy it would be almost worth the trip back from WA to hear Anthony Lia and David Nikiforoff, Wayne Horsfall , Dick Alport, David Page etc etc David Page is one of the organizers for a Country Music Show down that way each year,so I guess he plays a little country, Anthony Lia & David Nikiforoff used to play in a marching band,. Should be an interesting night,
Come on Jonesy, hows it coming along, what songs & music ???? Should be a good night Eh!
Been practicing Anthony & David, Wayne and the rest of the campfire band. I think that we should have a name the band comp after or at the event, unless of course some one comes up with a beaut one beforehand.
OK.....guess it WAS my idea, so I better respond. Seeing as my buggy has problems, I have had time for my second love...music! (my music also has problems)
Anyway, I am willing to have a crack at crookwell, only if others will join in (need other noise to drown-out my sax)!
I have a few easy going songs to suggest---YOUR SIXTEEN, COUNTRY ROADS, ITS A HEARTACHE, KANSAS CITY, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN, FOLSOM PRISON BLUES, BLUE MOON, SAILING, WHO'LL STOP THE RAIN, I FEEL GOOD, ROCKIN ROBIN, GREEN DOOR,
And a few really old songs---SUNNY SIDE OF THE STREET, ALL OF ME, WHITE SPORTS COAT, HEART OF MY HEART, WHOS SORRY NOW, FIVE FOOT TWO,
Whoever wants to join-in, just add your fave songs, and we'll try to get a songlist together to practice. Or PM me if your shy.
We dont need to be good, just entertaining, I am bloody hopeless on the sax, so a few more bad musicians would be great....a couple of good ones would also be appreciated! We will also need some pro-karaoke singers for the night.
How's this for a name of the 'band' & it's 'singers' , but I don't think it will fit on the front of a drum kit. 'A bunch of people who will be in no fit state any time soon to hop in a race car'
