AORC Logo - Do we have/need one.

Hi All,

I may be wrong here but it seems as if there is no logo out there for the AORC.
With all the new Media coverage i would have thought that there was one which people can use and have instantly associated with our national series.

This came to my attention especially as I produced DVDs for the Donald 500 & Pines Enduros and had nothing to work with. Now I am producing a video for an Adelaide based team and am also looking to do a video on just what is the AORC and thought that a logo would make this sport look a touch more professional.

I had a play and came up with something quick but would also like to hear anyone else's ideas.

From what I have heard, I don't think it was the commission that got rid of Pato, but rather those higher up the tree.

You need to be very, very, careful what you say in a Public Forum Dusteater. As a Commissioner on AORCom i take great offence to any suggestion that AORCom had anything to do with Johns removal. You have read the letter John wrote and you should know better than making a statement like that.

So where did the knives come from? And who is responsible for letting us all know the truth? What happened to a transparent CAMS?

I thought the topic here was regarding the logo for AORC; however Dusteater you have chosen to make a dig that is not only without fact and it is in fact very hurtful.  I have  represent NSW of AORCom for  two years now  and will be starting my third term in January and I can tell you now I did not  nor would I have  anything to do with John  being stood down from the Commission chair in the way he was.   Regarding the decision made by the Board, they have not at this time discussed their reasons with us and if they had I would not be making comment or assumption about the decision publicly.  John has done so much more for this sport that many people realize and we should be thanking him for his dedication and commitment to Off Road, yes Johns time in the Chair ended sooner that he planned, but I for one, hope we do see him around the tracks in future.  However I can assure you the Commission with Ben appointed as Chair for 2009 will continue to work together as a team to work towards a stronger and safer Off Road Racing community working together for the good of the sport.

Back to the subject, yes, a number of logos were put on the table at our last meeting for discussion and some minor changes to a couple were discussed, unfortunately this is only one of many things we are currently working on and with only two face to face meetings a year some things take longer than others, Also with ORInc now looking after the promotion of AORC this may now be a matter for them to follow through.    Doug316 please email your ideas to offroad@cams.com.au and Im sure Campbell and the team at CAMS will see it gets to the right people to take a look.

Sue, I cast no aspersions upon any individuals from AORCom but certainly if you have read Patos letter you can see how one would ask questions of how his dismissal came about. When the CEO of a company is dismissed by the board, the shareholders are entitled to an full and frank explanation. Whether that explanation comes from AORCom or CAMS is up to each body but we are still entitled to know why the Chairman, a person with an exceptionally long history of dedication to this sport, is treated so poorly. As I have said, I am no fan of Patos, but I and I am sure many others would like to know what is happening at the top level of administration and how long serving volunteers in our sport are treated. I appologise Sue if you took this personally. My concern is and always has been for the betterment of the sport and those who work/play in it.

232: Thanks for your reply, even if it was one of the few on topic ones.
Spoke to some other people and they said to make the Vehicle impartial so will make some mods and send it off for consideration.

As for the rest: Talk to your club's Off Road Panel Reps and you may find something out, Had our club meet last tuesday and was told some things which haven't been discussed on this site yet.
