This is for all age groups, drivers & learners, juniors & even if you just want to play in the dirt. It is not to train people to race, but to teach and show drivers what, how & why things happen the way they do on dirt.
Our Club received a Grant from CAMS for our junior driver training, /Stewards room. This room will be used for lectures for the driver training and during race meeting will double as the Stewards room. Part of the funds received will purchase a computer, software and aids for the driver training. This Driver Training Day is a direct result of the CAMS Grant and during the 2009 year we are introducing more of this type of event to enable more younger people the chance to widen their driver experiences & maybe introduce them to our sport of Off Road Racing.
You dont need a race car to participate, just your normal every day street car will be fine. The training will help in your normal (whats that) every day driving as well as those times when you venture onto dirt. It is a very practical introduction to driving on dirt but it is still a lot of fun to do, even for the guys & girls that already have licenses, CAMS or street!
Come along and have a go, it wont hurt, you might learn something.
If you can register your interest in this course asap it would be apreciated. This enables us to proved the right ratio of Officials/trainers for the day, It is shaping up well,with whole families expressing interest in hacing a go. Costs will be about $20 ,plus day club membership,if you are not a member and day licenses will be available also. Just a normal street car is quite OK for this day. So come on up and have a go. If your kids are over 12 years of age and capable of driving this is a good oportunity to gain experience. You can have up to 4 people using the one car for this day. Wives,Kids Yep even dad can be in it.
Canteen will not be working on the day. But the kitchen ,tea & coffee and the Bar B Q will available free of charge, to use if you want to cook your own meat & stuff. The Club will have cold drinks for sale.
