there is a large list of jobs that will need attending before the sate round.
if you are able to help out any weekend between now and the state round please contact ian irons.
family friendly jobs include installing new orange bunting down the access road and in the pit area.
also a fair bit of timber that could be copped up and moved around.
the larger jobs are moving clay and sand around the track to get it into a race able condition.
also finishing off the new first aid/driver training/stewards/bunk house room we still need some c sections for the roof Ian has the details for these if anyone can help.
any help is great this is the big race weekend for the club so lets make it a top weekend for all involved.
A few pics of some more progress on the Driver training/Stewards/Medical/Dormitory room. Again thanks to CAMS for the Grant to enable this to happen & also a big thank you to the members for all their hard work.
Don't stop now though, we still need lots of work done on the track (Filling in holes with clay, rolling ,packing down, grading ,dressing and drainage) & associated infrastructure (Bunting, signage, chainsaw work, whipper snipper stuff etc, etc.) We have only two months to get this done so we will need a concentrated effort from everyone to make COLO PARK great for our Round of the NSW Championship.
C section ready to go on, Things didn't go quite as smoothly as we were expecting. Some one needed our welder and grinder more than we did (Yep! they broke in & took them). which is earsier ,which delayed work a little until a next door neighbour lent us his. He is only 5klms away which is a lot closer than going back 65klms to get some. Thanks Pete for being a great neighbour.
If your not running at Nabiac & need the smell of dust to make you feel better come on up to COLO and give us a hand to get things ready for the last round of the NSW Championship . We have lots to do and any help will be appreciated, Take your pick Sat or Sun, ring Ian or Ross so we can organize food for weekend
Don't be shy, come on up & give a hand if your not running or pit crewing at Nabiac. Still got lots to do ,Track work, pit area, camping area. Storm has taken out PA system,, now needs loving care and attention. Driver training/Stewards/Medical/dormitory still in construction phase we need some people with chainsaws to clean up fallen timber.
Thanks Ian Boyd for a great grading job on Saturday, and peter Day & Matt McKerihan for there help on Sunday. Ross & William for a big 2 days on machinery and building. The roof is starting to go on and inside the canteen a few more mods have happened. here is a couple of pics to keep you up to date on progress
Here is some pics of Driver training/Medical/Stewards/ dormitory to see how we are progressing. As our first race meeting is on the end of february, working bee's need to happen. If anybody has some free time????? (whats that, yeah, I know) give Ian, Ross or myself a call & we'll make something happen. Otherwise we will be puting up some Working Bee dates shortly. If there is something that you feel needs to be done that's not on the list yet tell us.Please.
a lot of the workers are sick at the moment but don't get complacent, another working bee is about to happen. Just that we may have more supervisors than workers. So if you are able to give a hand ,let us know when & we will set one around that date. Easy as?
Alex Powe has volunteered to move the Power box in the canteen on the 16th May,Yep Mini Buggy Day. Then we can start on the doorway into the new room . Current thoughts are are maybe one or two normal type doors (maybe steel) that we can make ourselves????
