Spring rates

We are ordering our shocks for the front of our Prolite soon and want to get springs as well. What rate are other cars running for a single 2.5" x 12" each side. What valving would help as well.

you will need to get a weight on each corner of the assembled car to set it up correctly if you can have half fuel and the drive and navigator in the car this will also help if you are fussy. i haven't setup suspension on a buggy with coil over yet but will be over the christmas but the meathod desribe is how i have help set up hill climb cars in the passed.

once you know the weights you can find many good calcuators on the net to work out spring rates and as for valving i have no idea i want to know what people are running in super 1650 with toyota engines .

heres a a good calculator for spring rates

Car is incomplete at the moment but l can get a good deal on springs with the shocks so l need somewhere to start. Maby wolf you could give me your spring rates or Mark Everleigh has the same set up. I would like them for front and back.

Our car is about 1300 on the startline and the weight split is 40/60. Our spring rates are 500 over 550 and 150 over 250, but were still playing with springs.

Point to note though, the angle of the shock and how far up the arm the mount is, plus unsprung weight will make biiig differences to spring and shock valving.
